Games of Fire by Airicka Phoenix

17202780Sophie has enough problems in her life without Spencer turning her blood to fire, without his eyes freezing and burning her, without his hatred of her. Since his migration into the house
next to hers, Sophia Valdez isn’t sure whether she wants to toss him under a bus or kiss that smirking mouth of his. But even as the temperature rises around them, leaping flames of passion, want and desire, everything either has ever known will be shattered by the lurking shadow hounding their every step, wanting revenge.

Spencer Rowth moves to the sleepy town of River Port with his mother and twelve year old sister, Suzy, to escape a deceitful father, an unfaithful girlfriend and a life crumbling much too fast for him to grapple onto only to be smacked upside the head by the last thing he wanted again. Sophie was everything he refused to want. Her temper, her wit, her laugh, her smile, the way her entire body goes up in flames under his hands are things he would rather slam a lid on and forget. Instead, he finds himself falling for the smart-mouth next door. But how long will he have before the evil chasing them catches up? How long before the very thing he never wanted becomes his only thread to sanity? And who is after them? What do they want and why do they want Spencer and Sophie dead?

This book to me was a 5 out of 5 stars. I will say looking at the cover for some reason I thought it was a paranormal book but it’s not in any way. Lol. Shame on me for not knowing. 🙂 But have to admit the cover is awesome.

Sophie is your normal teenager. Loving parents and great friends. She pushes her parents limits threw the book like any normal teen. I love Sophie. I love her personality and how she struggles with what to do about Spencer.

Spencer is a gorgeous teen that has to move next door to Sophie with his mom due to his parents getting divorced. The first encounter between him and Sophie was awesome and had me falling in love with him. Love when books have a smart ass. 🙂

There are the Best friends. Jessie who is the emotion one and Lauren the level headed, smart lipped, and feisty one.

Then theirs Joe which I have to admit I didn’t care for from the start. You just have to read the book to get this one though.

This book was paced perfectly. Everything fell into place and kept the book going smoothly. I loved watching Spencer’s struggles and the love that bloomed between the two. This book had my nerves on high alert and at the end I think my nerves were shot. I loved everything about this book and it is now a favorite of mine. Definitely recommend this book.

A couple of my favorite parts…

1 – “He apparently forgot to rinse the shampoo from his hair so he’s taking a quick shower.”

*I laughed so hard at this part. 🙂

2- “You don’t tell a guy you love him and then apologize, witch! Do you mean it?”

Selling Scarlett by Ella James Review

17379508Elizabeth DeVille doesn’t belong at a party like this—one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.

When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter’s den of vices, she’s a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn’t have, and she’s come up with a foolproof way to get it.

Follow Elizabeth—code-named Scarlett—to the lush Nevada brothel where she’ll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that’s not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil’s mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life.

**Mature Content Warning** Not recommended for readers under the age of 17, due to mature language, sexual content, and violence.

Let me start off and say definitely a 5 out of 5 star book.

Now I am in love with a man and his name is HUNTER. OMG HOT. I could not get enough of this man. Let me say it again… HOT… Ok so back to my review. I loved this book. I was so into this book I didn’t want to do anything else.

Elizabeth (Libby) is a sweet girl with the biggest crush that I have ever read in a book on Hunter. She is a college student living with her best friend, Suri. She has a rough childhood that flows over to adulthood too. She is a beautiful girl who at times is unsure about things but does her best at every situation.

Hunter is amazing. He is a Handsome Millionaire and Professional Poker Player. He also experienced a horrible childhood. He keeps his secrets well though.

Let me also say I HATE Priscilla. Ohh boy do I hate her.

I am struggling with this review because I really don’t want to say to much and give anything away. No Spoilers here. 🙂

Ageless Sea by M.R. Polish Review

17611590Life. Love. Death.

Banished for a crime she didn’t commit, Karis must learn to live her life alone – and in a world that’s not her own. Cursed on an island of loneliness, forced to endure nearly a century without a friend, the woman once destined to be Queen must find a way to return to her world and save her people from an evil influence.

After many years, one man is strong enough to survive the cursed barrier that keeps her from leaving the island. She needs him so she can return to her world; he needs her to put together the pieces of his broken memory. Side by side, Brady and Karis feel their loneliness slip away.

Every day their love grows stronger, but will their bond survive the battle between worlds? In Book One of The Ageless Series, M.R. Polish takes readers into a world where myths are real, deception lurks in the shadows, and destiny brings two lost souls together to fight as one.

Umm WOW. This book was amazing and so is the cover. Definitely a 5 star book.

This book is about a journey that Karis and Brady take to try and get Shamike back which belongs to Karis. They both have things to learn. Not everything is the same for Karis and everything is brand new for Brady but they do it together. Karis and Brady’s relationship is special and nothing will stop them from being together.

Karis who is Queen of Shamike has it rough. Becoming Queen is not an easy thing when you have people against you. But she is a strong girl who never gives up. She is a fighter and that is whats so great about her. She doesn’t give up.

Brady is Hot of course with a kick ass tattoo. He has a great sense of humor. He had me laughing a few times threw the book. He is an alpha male. He is strong and willing to fight for and with Karis in every way. Brady also has it rough because he has a lot to learn that he didn’t know about.

M.R. Polish did a great job with this book. It was laid out perfectly and you are able to imagine every place and everything perfectly. I was lost in this book from page 1. This has reached my favorites and I can’t wait for a book 2.

About the Author

I have always had a vivid imagination, whether I was five years old pretending my storybooks were cookbooks and spellbooks, or now in my (mysterious number) writing down what the voices tell me. Fantasy and paranormal are my favorite, but not the only thing I write or read. I read just about anything that intrigues me, although I am a wife and a mother to four wonderful kids, so reading time is late at night when the house is quiet. Dragons, vampires, witches, fairies, magical, mythical, historical, time travel, romance… I love it all. I also love inspirational books. My favorite religious author is Gerald Lund, author of the Kingdom in the Crown series and the Work and the Glory series among many others. Another personal favorite genre is historical romance with Native Americans. Mmmm… Love warriors. I have read the Savage Destiny series by Rosanne Bittner with Zeke at least fifty times… no, I am not exaggerating. *Deep sigh… Zeke…
Writing has always been a passion for me. When I was in the 5th grade, I won a scary short story contest for Halloween with the school newspaper. After that, the ink didn’t stop flowing. I would write songs, poems, short stories and occasionally try my hand a novel (which was my deepest desire), but nothing ever came out that I thought was good enough. Until, Wolf Spell. It came to me and crawled under my skin till I itched to get it on paper. After that, ideas came at me full force. Series, trilogies, stand alone… Characters came to me in the middle of the night with incredible ideas and I listened. My writing comes from deep inside, from my heart. I pour out everything on paper, living lives and creating worlds that only I can see, wanting to share them with the world. And don’t forget… Love that makes the heart race and ache for more.
I am truly blessed by our Heavenly Father to be able to do what I truly love. I am blessed with my family, and all the support and love I have. I love you all.

Grishma by Kelly Anne Blount Review

16421118In the world of Necoh, everyone fears Grishma, a hideous murderous beast responsible for ruining or ending the lives of anyone who dare cross her.

As a young boy, Ryder lived with his family, deep in the caves underneath the Kadin Forest, unaware of the horrors of the world. His simple world was turned upside down one horrible night when Grishma attacked his family, killing his father and kidnapping his mother and younger sister.

From that night on, Ryder devoted his life to killing Grishma. He tracked the monster from Necoh, to our world, and back again. Unfortunately, during his quest, he accidentally transported Brooklyn, a high school junior into his tumultuous world, where she is mistakenly identified as Princess Sophie, the missing princess of Sumner.

Days after Princess Sophie’s return, Grishma plots and manipulates the King into drugging and marrying off his only daughter to Prince Algid of Dratun. Desperate to save Brooklyn, who now believes she is the long lost princess, his mother, and his little sister, Ryder embarks on the deadliest part of his quest.

Will he save Brooklyn? Will she ever regain her memory? What will become of his mother and sister?

Through epic adventure, loss, and love, GRISHMA depicts the strength of the human spirit and the tight bonds formed by the unique creatures of Necoh.

I absolutely loved this book. The cover is beautiful and the story was perfect. All the different characters that were created in this book was awesome. This is not like your normal paranormal books. It was so different and unique and I enjoyed every minute of it. From Ryder and Brooklyn to the orvbas. I absolutely loved Ryder and Brooklyn.. I felt for them threw the whole story. This author really put in great details so you are able to imagine everything even the nasty Grishma.

This book ended before I wanted it to. I really hope there is a book 2 coming out so I can see what happens next. I would recommend this book to everyone. It will have you engrossed from page 1 till the end. You will not be disappointed in this one.

Octavian’s Undoing Excerpt/Teaser
“I’ll pay it.”
He crossed his arms again, a gesture she was quickly beginning to understand as annoyance. “You can have it to me by tomorrow. I take cash only.”
The blistering surge of heat that lurched up her neck to flood her face also brought a flutter of dread cinching in her chest. “I don’t have it,” she whispered, hating herself for admitting such a thing. “But I will!”
“And how do you suppose you’re going to come up with that much in twenty-four hours?”
“By offering you… me.”
She didn’t know how it happened, how he vanished from the other side of the desk and magically appeared before her. She couldn’t fathom how his fingers found and wove themselves into her hair, twisting the copper curls until she was trapped between his hard body and the equally solid door. His angular face loomed dangerously close, bathing her tingling cheeks with the heat of his breath and the scent of mint. Eyes colder and harder than ice chips, yet dark and bottomless as the bottom of a well bore into hers, freezing her in their consuming depths.
“Do you think one night in my bed will settle the debt?” he half-asked, half-growled. “Are you really so talented, Ms. Masters?”
