Love or Death? A simple question really. The choice seems obvious. But. What if you never knew love, what if your life was spent just trying to survive? What if you knew your fate before you were fully grown?
And then you died.
And you were given another chance. A better chance.
This new life depended upon one thing: your job. And so you agreed. You thought it would be simple. You thought it would be cut and dry.
It never is.
And now you are left holding the fate of someone else in the palm of your hand and you have to make the ultimate choice.
Love or Death?
I have had this book along with Cabria Hebert’s other books on my Kindle for awhile now. I hate to say but I had not gotten a chance to read them with the growing list of books that I keep adding. Thankfully a friend asked me to read it for her so I sat down today and read it in one sitting. This book was so good it was hard for me to put it down to even go to the restroom. It is that good. I loved this book and was hooked from the first chapter.
Piper is a sweet girl with the ability to have visions of the future. She has a best friend Franky who is spunky and fun. Piper is going to college to be a doctor and also working at a diner to pay for it. One night she runs into a guy (Dex) on the street who just so happens to pick pocket her tips on her way to the bus stop. Just seconds after the bus comes and loses control and is about to hit Piper but the guy that stole her money pushes her out of the way and in return ends up hit by the bus and dying on the street with his last vision being Piper.
Dex was homeless living on the streets. After helping Piper and getting killed he wakes up in a room without a true form only a purple mist. In this room that looks like an office there is a man named G.R who offers him a job as a Death Escort with tons of money and nice things. Something Dex never had before. His first target is Piper. Dex agrees because of the money and being able to live like he never has before. He has two months to get the job done or he gets Recalled and sent to a place much worse then Hell. Dex tries his best to do the job but what he didn’t plan on or expect was to actually like Piper.
Piper knows there is something about Dex that she can’t seem to figure out. Some things he has said makes her think he knows the guy that saved her life from the bus. She proceeds to try and figure it out by showing up at his house. This is Dex’s first real chance to kill Piper. He invites her to stay for dinner with the knowledge that she is deathly allergic to peanuts and his butler Hobbs just fried chicken in peanut oil. But as Piper is on the floor close to dying Dex has a change of heart and Hobbs saves her just in time
After Hobbs saves Piper and Dex finally gets her home he meets a Ghost Escort named Storm. Storm doesn’t have a body or really any form at all but grey and is there to spy on the targets that Escorts are given. Once Piper is dead Storm would get a vacation where G.R gives him a body for a little while to do as he wants.
“I’d fist bump you, but that might be kind of hard.”
“Like I haven’t heard that before.”
He tries several times to kill her but every time he ends up saving her again. G.R. which Dex learns stands for Grim Reaper shows him what it would be like to be stuck in the other place that is worse then Hell. He fights with himself and the fear of the place he could end up. He finally comes to the realization that he is in love. Something he has never felt before.
Charming comes into the picture as Dex’s babysitter. When the job is done and Piper is killed Charming will receive her gift of visions. He tries pushing Dex to get the job done. Charming ends up taking off and kidnapping Piper from her house. He takes her to the diner where he plans on killing her but Dex comes in and rescues her. After getting her away from Charming and driving down the icy road Piper realizes that Dex has been trying to kill her all along. She is crushed because she has fallen in love with him too. After finding out she starts beating on Dex resulting in a bad car accident placing her in the hospital yet again.
The ending to this book was damn good. I was so nervous threw this book not knowing what was going to happen. I really hate that Dex and Piper couldn’t have a happily ever after. Storm made me laugh along with the times Dex made fun of Charming for his crazy name. This book was perfect and I am so happy I finally sat down and read it.

The first time I ever saw Caden Harper I’m pretty sure I fell in love.
All that golden hair and pale blue eyes. He was mysterious and covered

is a womanizer.
So I moved on, well kind of. Jaden Harper wasn’t what I expected. I
found myself drawn to him all most as much as his brother. Maybe it’s
the fact they are twins or maybe it was the fact I wanted to live on

Now I’ve found myself dug deep in this game. Theres no end in sight

By R.L. Mathewson
There was something seriously wrong with Marty. That was the only explanation that she could come up with. Why else would she feel this way for the biggest SOB in town? Granted, he was also the hottest man in town, but he was also arrogant, callous, and determined to drive her away even as he drove her crazy with his touch. She should just walk away from him and probably would if it wasn’t for this connection that she’d always had with him that kept making her want more with the one man that couldn’t give her anything more than heartache.
He should have left and never looked back when he’d decided to finally do the right thing and push Marty out of his life, but instead he stuck around to torture himself by staying close to the one woman that he could never allow himself to have. She deserved better than him, better than the tortured existence that he led and better than the horrifying future that waited for him.
Absolutely fantastic read, R.L. is already one of most favorite authors but I have to say she completely out did herself. First off I have to tell you to read the book from page one all the way to the last word, R.L. Starts off by explain what got her into writing and how Tristan and Marty’s story began. It was very touching.
On to the review, I love Marty she is tough as nails and witty as hell. I found myself saying damn I wish I had the balls to do that. Tristan is the biggest ass possible but your heart breaks for him. The book starts with Tristan as a child who apparently suffers from panic attacks his mother and father are at the end of their ropes and no longer what him. As a mother of disabled child this really pissed me off. Luckily their is an EMT that is on the scene and takes pity on young Tristan.
We jump ahead to Tristan being an adult and Tom and his wife Beth adopted and raised him along with their older son Denny. I truly thought this story was going to go as planned but wow was I wrong. Marty is the girl who lived across the street from Tristan. Tristan and Marty spent most of their childhood years as friends who did most everything together. That is until Tristan started to push her away. Now they barely speak but have a love so strong they are both in so much pain staying apart.
Tristan with his asshole ways and Marty with her wit had me cracking up laughing to the point that my husband thought I was going crazy. Their passion was oh so hot and there is a surprise about each other that neither one of them expected and it is so touching. I can’t give much away but Tristan also has a friend Shayne who will have you peeing your pants with the things that comes out of his mouth.
There is so much to this story that I could tell you about but won’t because I don’t do spoilers all I can tell you is that this book is an absolute must read. You have the arrogance of a Bradford and the sexiness of Ephraim all rolled into one man. One thing this book did that no other R.L. book did to me was make me tear up. But it was so worth the sniffles and I loved how it ended she set up the story for the next book in the series. So get you one click finger ready and go get this book!!!
I absolutely loved this book. I was so excited to get to read a new R.L. Mathewson. She is one of my all time favorites and I read her books over and over. This is another awesome one to add to her long list. This book had me happy, laughing, sad, pissed, and even in tears. I felt connected to this book as I read it and everything Marty felt I felt with her.
Marty is in love with Tristan (Hot Alpha Male). He is a detective who works for her dad at the police department. Marty is getting a degree and will soon have a permanent at the same department. Marty and Tristan have loved each other since they were kids but neither told the other. Marty because she was scared he didn’t feel the same and Tristan because he had strange things going on in is life and felt Marty deserved better.
See Tristan can see dead people. Not only see them but talk to them and touch them. Spirits bug him constantly threw out his life. Thankfully at a young age Shayne came to look after him. Shayne is not like any other spirits who cant touch things or sit on furniture. No Shayne can do almost everything like a human. He can sit on couches and play video games and he loves Porn and Gilligan’s Island. Shayne is from Ireland and I loved the way he talked. He is a hoot and had me laughing several times.
Ok. Back to the review. Marty gets a job at the department early to help Tristan out because he was shot and is on light duty. These two are to scared to admit their feeling so they make work hell for each other. They had some fun and interesting ways to get back at each other until Tristen finally decides that he has had enough and wants Marty in his life. Their dating starts out rocky but boy the sex they have was HOT. After this is when things really start to get interesting.
And we can’t forget about Beth. She was crazy. Trying to give her 29 yr old son a sponge bath. OMG.
Almost at the end I was scared to read anymore. I didn’t want a unhappy ending and I was scared of what was going to happen. I was close to tears and was ready to just make up my own ending in my head and put the book down. But I pushed threw and happy that I did. I loved the ending. Thankfully at the end there is a note letting us know that this story/series is not over. I love Shayne’s soul mate. What a great book that will make. I also can’t wait to read more about Tristan and Marty.
This book was amazing. I didn’t want to put it down. I fell in love with Tristan from the start. R.L. Mathewson is awesome at creating the perfect alpha male. Just like the rest of the males she writes about. If you have not read her books you are seriously missing out. Who can live without the Bradford’s?

Rourk Kavanagh is an elite elfin warrior, and a member of a human
Special Forces team. During a routine mission in Afghanistan, he
crosses paths with a dark supernatural creature—a d’jinn.
His world gets turned upside down when the unthinkable happens:
Keegan, his one true love, is kidnapped by an evil d’jinn. The d’jinn
is seeking revenge for the death of his brother at Rourk’s hands.
Fueled by fear over the potential loss of his wife, Rourk has only one
thought—embrace the rage.
This is a book that I have been waiting on to come out since I first read Keegan’s Chronicles. I am a big fan or Rourk. He is hot, sweet, and such a strong person. He had to deal with a lot threw Keegan’s Chronicles but he never gave up. This book couldn’t have turned out better. I absolutely loved it.
“Rourk” gives us a look into what happened after the Trilogy. If you are like me, after a good series, you always wonder what happened. Well this book tells you. There are laughs, heart ache, death, and life. This book covers it all perfectly.
Rourk is of course in the Army Special Forces. He is good at his job thanks to his Elfin powers. He heads over to Afghanistan for his tour only to find D’jinn’s are hiding out there. D’jinn’s are bad and can not be killed with a gun.
Meanwhile Keegan is at home in there house they bought after getting married. They have a happy life but a hard one since Rourk is gone so much. Her brother Thaddeus comes to visit and ends up freaking her out a little when he leaves.
“Everything happens for a reason”
After Thaddeus leaves Keegan gets kidnapped and revenge becomes a big thing for both the D’jinn and Rourk. What happens next? You will have to read this amazing book to find out.
This book couldn’t have been written better. I recommend everyone to read this. This can definitely be read by itself but is so much better understood if you have read the Keegan’s Chronicles. Julia Crane is an amazing Author and I can’t wait for her next book.

With a Dark witching seeking revenge against him, Beck, the eighteen-year-old Master of Light, must find a way to protect those he loves, the witchlings – and his heart. His duty is further complicated by Morgan, a beautiful Fire witching with a secret that threatens to destroy the progress he’s made protecting the Light.
Definitely a 5 Star book.
I absolute loved everything about this book. It was perfect. Of course Beck and Decker are hot as can be. Summer and Biji are still as sweet as ever and Dawn is her usual bitch self. That will never change.
This book is about Beck and the struggles he goes threw. Not exactly like what Decker dealt with but close. Beck has to figure out what is happening to the light underneath the school. He is still learning his place as the Master of Light which is not easy because he didn’t have someone to show him the way. Poor guy still has Dawn stressing him out.
Morgan is a fire witchling caught in between lights. She is neither light nor dark. Her trial will decide which way she goes. It is unusual to have a fire witchling that is Light. Morgan tries her best not to get comfortable or become friends with anyone. She has a plan to leave as soon as she hits 18. The threat of calling her father makes her change her ways.
Beck and Morgan realize they have a connection and both decide to walk away. Morgan because she doesn’t trust people and because she plans on leaving and doesn’t want anyone hurt. Beck because he has other issues he has to deal, one of many being Dawn, and doesn’t want anything happening to Morgan. This does not last long and they finally both decide to stop fighting the pull. After that is when things start to go crazy.
“I will tell Summer to bring you more treats.”
Sam Sam Sam. I love Sam. He is great and is definitely my favorite character in this series. I love his personality with the witchlings. If Sam was real I would make him live in my backyard and I would bring him Chocolate everyday.
“Beck’s Pet Bigfoot”
Sam will have you laughing in every book. The witchlings say he is ugly but I say Adorable. He only talks to the Master of Dark and Master of Light with the exception of Summer and Morgan for other reasons. I would love to see a book threw Sam’s eyes. He is great.
This book was amazing. If you are a Decker fan you still get plenty of him in this book and details about how things are going with him and Summer.
“Eight months, one week, and three days. I have a count down.”
Decker making me laugh as always.
This is a book that must be read but make sure to read the two before so you know what is happening. This one did end with a cliffhanger like no other. I felt so lost when I read the last word because I had so many questions but I would not change anything. Thank you Lizzy Ford for another great addition to this series.
Oh my goodness my heart is still pounding from the cliffhanger we are left with. Lizzy Ford you are absolutely an amazing author. I cannot stress how fantastic this book was, I mean I love all of her books but there is just something about this series that is just terrific. I love how we get a little more of Summer, Decker, Biji, Amber, Sam and unfortunately Dawn and Alexa. We are also introduced to Connor (Morgan’s brother) and Noah (Dawn’s brother).
Morgan is a Witchling who is caught in the in between of light and dark, being a fire element makes this even harder for her because she reacts emotionally which of course her fire feeds off. Beck of course is the Master of Light and is dealing with a psychotic pregnant ex that had a part in killing the last girl Beck was dating. Beck though cannot get the beautiful Morgan out of his mind. Morgan is rebelling against all things at school and Amber their instructor is trying to get Morgan to adapt so that she can stay and learn the way of the Light. Amber ask Beck to help out and see if he can find out what Morgan’s problem is.
As Beck tries to help Morgan their attraction continues to grow, but Beck has to protect the world from Darkness and of course keep Morgan safe from nut job Dawn. They try and stay apart but they can’t seem to fight it and Sam explains to Beck that just like Decker has Summer to balance him he will have someone to balance him. Of track but I have to say I love Sam, I wish I had someone like him to guide me through life. Sam also speaks to Morgan and lets her know that she has to help protect Beck. Morgan steps up to the plate and stands up to Dawn and her lackey Alexa, which of course does not turn our well at all.
Morgan has a secret that no one knows about all we know is that it has caused her to hate the holiday season. We do find out parts of her secret from her brother Connor, but we are left wondering what in the world this other half is. My heart breaks for Morgan because she really does seem to have an amazing heart. She steps in when she sees people not being nice to another student. After the first fight she had with Alexa she actually apologized because she does not like being mean to people. I do not want to go more into the story for fear of spoiling it for you.
Please know you will have a cliffhanger unlike any Lizzy has written before at least that is the way I feel. I always can’t wait for the next book by Lizzy but this one has me waiting beyond impatiently. I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen with Morgan and Beck or what Decker is going to do with Dawn and Alexa or how about what is going on with Noah and Biji (yes that is a little teaser). Just like the rest of this series it is YA and because of that I would recommend it to anyone who truly loves and good story.

Long hidden feelings are revealed and friendships tested to the brink.
Nicole’s Review ~~
Wow this book was absolutely fantastic. K.A. Robinson did a wonderful job at telling this emotional charged story. There are so many things about this book that I don’t even know where to beginning. I guess the first and most important place to start is with Chloe herself. The amount of pain and abuse this young woman has had to endure is so unbelievably heartbreaking. I found my eyes filling up with tears as she began to tell what her life was like growing up. The book starts out with Chloe starting college with her best friends Amber and Logan. Amber and Logan have always been there for Chloe through all the craziness she has endured from her mother. One the first day of classes Chloe sits next to “bad boy” Drake and is automatically completely attracted to him. Logan takes an instant dislike for Drake and starts to bash and keep Chloe away from him. As we all know though when you are so strongly attracted to someone you are just drawn to them and make any and all excuses to be around them.
As Drake and Chloe grow closer Logan’s jealousy starts to show. Drake keeps telling Chloe that there is more to Logan’s behavior than just brotherly/best friend love. As Chloe comes to realize this she finds herself completely unsure of what and how she feels. One night after drinking a little too heavily Logan finally tells Chloe that he is in love with her and that he wants more than a friendship. Of course she becomes even more torn between the stronger feelings she has for Drake and the love that she has for Logan. One night after Chloe suffers an almost tragedy Drake is there to comfort her and they share a kiss that turns hot and heavy but then Drake pushes her away. He tells her he is no good for her and that she should just be with Logan. Chloe leaves a mess and within a few days has to watch Drake paw some other woman. As we all do she ends up getting plastered drunk and ends up hooking up with Logan.
Logan is over the moon happy that they are finally going to take their friendship to another level. Meanwhile Chloe is still so very much torn on her feelings for her best friend turned boyfriend. This is the part in the book that made me give only a 4.5 star rating. As Logan and Chloe relationship has come out and Drake is forced to watch them together he becomes moody and avoids Chloe. One night they end up having to study together and Drake is his moody self and Chloe pushes him for answers as to why. When Drake finally admits it’s because he can’t stand to see Chloe with Logan, Chloe tells him to take her then. I have to say I absolutely abhor cheaters, for me there is no reason to cheat on someone you are with regardless if you have stronger feelings for one or the other. Granted Chloe is wracked with guilty and takes off away from Drake.
Chloe keeps her secret to herself. Her and Drake go back to a strained relationship and Logan is happily oblivious to what has happen. As the story continues things look like things are going back to normally until after winter break. Chloe finds herself at Drake’s house and again things get out of hand, she knows this time she has really screwed up and she must tell Logan what is going on. With all of this going on she has her psychotic mother calling her and threatening to find her again. This is where my heart breaks for her the most because she is forced to come clean to everyone she loves but at the same time dealing with her mother and not having anyone to count on. When all the cards are laid on the table all hell breaks loose and friendships and love are destroyed. I will stop here and now because I do not want you to know how things round up in this book, all I will tell you is the craziness has just started and I truly feel that Chloe has made the right decisions.
So to summarize this is an absolutely wonderful read that will make you smile, cry and cringe. The characters are fantastic, so realistic that you aren’t have to say no one would act like that because I know if I have lived through what Chloe has I would be a complete basket case. There is not one point in the story where you think man can we just move one, there is no filler or anything to make this story drag. It is without a doubt a page turner. There are some sex scenes and man oh man are they pretty hot!!! I complete and highly recommend this book to anyone.
