His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breathe? He is what I need.
At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard, the ghosts of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run.
On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?
Have you ever read a book that when you got to the ending you found a cliffhanger and all you wanted to do was SCREAM? Well that has just happened to me with this book. I was so into this book I didn’t even realize I was close to the ending until it popped up on me out of now where. I was heart broken it was over already. I was flustered at the cliffhanger and the fact that I couldn’t find out what was next. My emotions are still all over the place and I need more. And to make this book even better there are TWO hot as hell men to drool over.
You start with Amy. Beautiful girl with a rough life. She is running from something that has happened in the past. Something that haunts her daily. On her run from one life (New York) to the next (Denver) she meets Liam. Liam is a hot as sin billionaire. I would drool if I met him and probably wouldn’t be able to speak. This is a alpha male that likes control. He is smart and a quick thinker. He is high up on the boyfriend list now.
Liam and Amy end up seated next to each other on a airplane where their relationship starts and continues after the flight. Amy is uneasy about this but can’t seem to fight the connection she feels towards him. She finds herself in a relationship of sorts with him. Being new in Denver he helps her out and is very persistent.
After moving into her new apartment she meets Jared. Another alpha male that is hot as sin and a smart ass to top it off. Don’t know if you can get better then that. Jared lives across the hall from her in the apartment building. He seems to have a little thing for Amy. As the days start to pass things start to get really weird for Amy and this is where I stop discussing about the book because you HAVE to read this for yourself.
When i started reading I will admit I wasn’t sure I could trust Jared. Something seemed off or suspicious about him and it kept me on edge. I loved Liam through the whole book but by the end he had me pissed and not sure I could trust him either. This book had me hooked since page one. I hated that it ended and can’t wait for book two. Please hurry with book two. 🙂 If you are not sure about this book I am telling you it is an AMAZING read.
I end this review with one of my favorite parts from the book.
“You know people don’t normally get excited to see me, but I don’t usually send
them running into another man’s arms either. But hey, maybe that explains
why I’m not dating. I’m scarier than I thought.” – The Locksmith

When Garrett Andrews finds something that catches his eye, he goes after it, letting nothing stand in the way of what he wants to possess. The first woman to arouse his heart could be the one person who helps him to finally open up and feel again.
Laurel Hart was a swimming champion until a frightful event and unknown health issues derailed her career. With a recent degree from MIT in Bio-Medical Engineering and an offer to join one of the leading innovators of medical equipment in the world, she plans on making a new life for herself; letting nightmares from her past stay in the past, or so she thinks.
Neither of them wants to date, but she finds herself drawn to him and Garrett uses every excuse to be near her. Laurel’s afraid to let anyone get close, but finds solace in his arms. Garrett is finally able to be himself around someone. Together, they discover a connection that manages to soothe both their souls and starts opening them up to new possibilities.
Once Garrett finds out about Laurel’s past, all rules in regards to “relationships” are changed, because one false move could drive her away. He attempts to calm her nightmares and gain her trust so he can show her who he really is and the relationship he desires from her.
Will they be able to overcome the damage their hearts have encountered? Can they find happiness? Can they trust their minds or will life throw each of them another curveball? Only time will tell if they can learn to trust.
Definitely a 5 star book
This book was great. It is almost 3 in the morning and I am just now finishing. I couldn’t put it down. This book absolutely had me hooked from page one. This does remind me of Fifty Shades of Grey but not in a copy cat kind of way. This is the book I have been searching for on all those lists that say “If you liked Fifty Shades you should read these.” I have not found a book as good as Fifty Shades until now.
Laurel is a girl about to graduate college. Yes just like Ava but so different. Laurel had a terrible experience while in college putting her off men and making her daily life a bit miserable. She meets Garrett during an interview for a job. She feels this strange pull towards him that she has never experienced before but he makes her feel safe and comfortable.
Garrett is head of HR for a company. He is hot and likes to be in control. He does have some similarities to Christian Grey but they have their differences too. I loved Garrett. He is definitely added to my book boyfriend list. I don’t think I could get enough of him.
There’s no way to go into much detail on this book or what happens without giving things away. This is a must read. The passion and emotions in the book felt so real. The sex scenes rocked and the way Garrett controlled everything was perfect. The way he played certain things really had me guessing too.
Anyone that reads this post should definitely read this book. Thank you to the Author for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. What that should say is AMAZING book. 🙂
About the Author:
Cynthia P. O’Neill grew up in a small town, called Clewiston, in South Florida. She moved to the Central Florida area to attend college and has never left. She met her friend, love, soul mate and married him. Together they have an amazing son, a feisty four-legged little boy, and a happy life together.
During the course of schooling, she read works by great literary artists, from Shakespeare, to Hemingway, and all the authors in between. She had never considered a field in writing until she stumbled across some Young Adult literature and discovered a love for forbidden romances of all genres.
Her background is focused in healthcare, science and business, while her husband’s is engineering. So you may find references to those areas in some of her books.
Several years after she got married, she started dreaming about her first book, I Remember. Eight years later the story was still strong and the urge to write it down developed. It wasn’t until a few friends asked if she had ever considered writing a Young Adult novel, plus having fallen in love with several new authors who wrote in the first person, that the idea took new light. The story played itself out in her dreams, until one day she talked with her family, told them the idea and finally set down to write, with their encouragement.
Cynthia’s first book is geared towards the Young Adult, Historical and Paranormal Romance fans. She does hope to grow as a writer and write in multiple genres.
She tries to make her writing very personal and close to her heart. Regular life is the inspiration for her books, but her imagination takes them to new heights, opening up possibilities that would normally not exist.
TITLE: Two Roads
AUTHOR: L.M. Augustine

BARNES & NOBLE:
The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.
Ever since Cali’s parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better–and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn’t hurt that he’s part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.
But when Cali’s parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.
And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren’t that obnoxious after all…

Aleatha Romig skillfully weaves past transgressions through current deception to create a fervent world of obsessed desire. In this reality can an all-consuming relationship survive? When buried sins are discovered they threaten not only Tony and Claire’s future — but their very lives! Will the TRUTH be revealed in time?
Let me start off this review by saying that you absolutely, positively must read Consequences the first book in this series; if you do not you will be thoroughly confused. Also I have never done this in a review but I must warn you that if you are not a fan of the uglier side of life this is not a series for you to read.
For me it was difficult for me to review this book not because of the story itself because it was truly fantastic and Ms. Romig did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. It is more a personally preference in writing styles. I am not a huge fan of jumping from character to character and also I prefer a good bit more dialogue. With that sad this book is still a solid 4.5 star read and I would highly recommended it to anyone over the age of 18.
We start out a little more than a year after the ending of Consequences and Claire is being pardoned and her record is being expunged. She has a great support system and is ready to move on with her life. Unfortunately Tony is not so thrilled with her release and her freedom. He starts harassing her and making her life absolutely miserable. As the story continues you are on the edge of your sit waiting for the next bump/turn in the story. For me I was never really ready for what was about to happen and when it did I was like holy cow that can’t be.
I am a huge believer in people deserving a second chance but I have to say with what Tony put Claire through I highly doubt he would be able to change. I loved how Claire found the backbone that she needed. I could never in my life imagine even having the guts to talk to someone who took advantage of me the way Tony did Claire. But not with Claire not only did she speak with him but she stood up to him and faced her inner demons.
The ending will shock you and you will be not so patiently waiting for the next installment. Do yourself a huge favor and if you are looking for a read that is not all flowers and sunshine pick this series up.
“Good for you.” He leaned toward her, his eyes devouring her entirely, until she questioned her own presence. “Your ability to admit your displeasure is refreshing. It encourages me to be honest, too.”
Claire did her best to glare, “Honesty. That would be a refreshing change.”
His expression remained soft and so were his words, “You should know …I am sorry.”
The world as Claire knew it, shifted. Perhaps it was an earthquake, they do happen in California. Why couldn’t he be domineering or abrasive? That she could resist. But, apologetic, in the depths of her soul, she never expected to hear those three words.
“What?” She tried unsuccessfully to subdue the overpowering trembling. The volume of her voice rose exponentially with each phrase, “You’re sorry?” The years of submission, incarceration, and domination bubbled out. No, not bubbled–gushed. This was not his house. She was not sequestered away from the love and support of others. She’d say whatever she wanted, and then tell him to leave. If he didn’t–she’d call security. They were after all, on her call log. “Well, Tony, I believe I need a little clarification. Tell me what exactly you’re sorry about. I’ll gladly give you a few options.”
The fury surging through her veins wouldn’t allow her to remain seated. She stood and paced, around the coffee table, in front of the large windows, back to the chair and again to the coffee table. She felt his eyes on her, as she made multiple slow and methodical loops. Her mind was a whirlwind, a tornado, of words. Each syllable vehemently rushed to get out. Instead of opening the flood gate, Claire took a few deep breaths. She wanted to proceed slowly, clearing away the debris cluttering her mind, and choose the right words. Finally, she began, “First, you’re sorry for invading my privacy for years, years before I even knew you existed. Second, you’re sorry for kidnapping me, isolating, controlling me, and manipulating me. Third, you’re sorry for lying to me, pretending you cared and oh yeah, marrying me. Fourth, listen carefully Tony, this is a big one…you’re sorry for framing me for attempted murder, resulting in incarceration in a federal penitentiary.” She sat back down, arms once again crossed over her breasts. It was the most direct she’d ever spoken to him, and it felt liberating. Unfortunately, the resentment coursing through her veins wouldn’t allow her to relish her new found independence.
She expected her words to incite anger; after all, she’d experienced his anger before. Nevertheless, carelessly and unapologetically Claire forged ahead. “I would prefer the words, but you are welcome to say, one through four, if that’s easier for you.”
He leaned forward. Cautiously she looked up into his face. Her body trembled. The cause may have been the fury she’d just released, or perhaps fear of his anticipated reaction. Then she took in his expression and without warning the trembling stopped. His eyes were soft, the color of melted chocolate–even sad, overflowing with regret. He reached for her hand and gently tugged. Slowly, Claire released her appendage, allowing it to sit in his large palm. Tenderly he closed his fingers encasing her petite hand.
“I’m deeply sorry for one and four.” He rubbed the top of her hand with his thumb. “I did provide you with an alternative destination for number four.” Claire exhaled audibly, Tony continued, “I’m not proud of two, but three would never have happened without it.” His tone deepened and slowed, “I am not, and never will be sorry for three. And, for the record, I never lied about or pretended to love you. I didn’t realize it at first, but I have loved you since before you knew my name.” He slowly lifted the hand he held and lowered his lips to the firm soft skin. “And, you forgot our divorce. I am sincerely sorry for that also. Had I known you would be released so soon, we could still be married.” He placed her left hand on her knee, and stroked her empty fourth finger. “You could still officially be mine.”

The discovery of an ancient bottle unleashes a Genie – and the wrath of the Demon Gypsies chasing her…
When Suzette (“Suki”) is released from her bottle by two teen girls, she is more than a bit surprised that a Genie of her calibre is beholden to two average high school students. After dealing with dignitaries and noblemen, however, she believes this will be a welcome break.
Until she discovers the teens’ hidden powers and that one will come to possess the Amulet of Pollox, a necklace that contains the secrets from some of the greatest minds throughout history. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one who notices. The Amulet draws the attention of the two powerful and vengeful Demon Gypsies who have pursued Suki through time and will stop at nothing to snatch the girls and the Amulet.
Suddenly, Suki is not just helping the girls navigate high school crushes, she’s safeguarding them from danger unlike anything they’ve ever known. To make matters more complicated, she must also fight her attraction to James – her protector through the ages – whose sudden arrival threatens her resolve and her heart.
A time-traveling Genie and her unrequited love…
Demon Gypsies with an insatiable quest for power…
And the teen girls whose existence threatens them all.
This is the world of “Released,” book one of The Romani Realms series by Mia Fox, a Young Adult trilogy featuring elements of paranormal romance and steampunk.
Suzette is a three-hundred plus year old genie, but unless you want to start a rather sudden thunderstorm in your living room, you wouldn’t dare bring up her age. She spent her formative years in the South and whole heartedly believes that one should not discuss the age of a lady. But the real reason is that Suki is a tad bit vain and quite proud of the fact that she doesn’t look a day over 29.
Having time traveled in and out of the lives of many a famous man, she has learned a thing or two about love, except where her own heart is concerned. Falling for James may be her un-doing. She is head over heels, but not quite used to the idea of a man serving as her protector. After all, she has always been the one to influence and lead the men in her life. Every man who has ever released her has established their place in history — unfortunately, that place hasn’t always been rooted with rewards. Even though Suki may lead her releasors astray, her heart is in the right place and overflowing with the best of intentions.
Mia Fox is a Los Angeles-based novelist who writes across varied genres including contemporary fiction, chick lit, and young adult/new adult. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from U.S.C. followed by a Masters Degree in Professional Writing also from U.S.C.
A lifelong reader and history lover, Mia enjoys infusing her writing with details of the past as she has done in her first book, “Released,” part of the Romani Realms trilogy, which combines paranormal romance with elements of steampunk.
Her follow up book, “Alert the Media,” is based on her previous professional life working as an entertainment publicist. Today, she is happy to leave that world behind her, preferring that any drama in her life is only that which she creates for her characters.
Mia is happily married to her best-friend, a Brit who has inspired her with annual visits to England, an appreciation for dark chocolate, and the blessing of their three children.

Title: Taming Cross (A Love Inc #2)
Author: Ella James
For twenty-three years, Cross Carlson was a playboy. You know the type. Tall, dark, and wealthy. Blue-eyed. Charming. He seemed to have it all so easy. But Cross was harboring a terrible secret – one that helped ruin the life of an innocent girl and almost ended his own.
Finally out of the hospital, Cross is flailing, scarred in both body and mind and stifled by the weight of the secret he still keeps. The only way to absolution lies in a Mexican convent, and going there could cost him everything.
If there’s anyone who knows what it’s like to screw up big time, it’s Meredith Kinsey. Just a few years ago, Merri was an ordinary girl with a job at her college newspaper and white picket fence kind of dreams. Now she’s holed up in a Mexican convent, hiding from a drug lord who thinks he owns her.
What happens when the only way out of hell is with the son of the man who put you there? They say love conquers all, but does it really?
Sister opens the door to a small reading room with green carpet and white bookshelves, and we pause before going in. All at once she pulls me to her chest and kisses my head.
“Be brave, Merri, my love. You must do what you must do. We only want what’s best for you.”
And then she…leaves. She leaves me here, before I even see who’s in the room.
For the longest second, I stay on the threshold, staring at the man who is facing the bookshelf. My eyes run down the length of him, expecting to find Jesus or one of his Sicarios, but that’s not what I find.
I don’t know who this man is. He’s tall, with dark hair and large bones. Long legs, wide back, big shoulders. He looks lean, almost sick, because I can tell he shouldn’t be. He reminds me of a starved lion I saw once in a documentary.
He turns toward me slowly, and as he moves I’m frozen, like in those nightmares where you’re being chased but you can’t run.
At first I’m not looking at his features—only the expression, which is somehow both solemn and surprised. And I feel like I’ve been struck dead, because he has an angel’s face. It’s not just the flawless blue of his eyes or his celebrity-perfect bones. It’s not his perfect, straight-line nose or that lush, cherubic mouth. It’s not his smooth skin. It’s what I see inside his eyes. Something so intense, so sad, so ecstatic, so relieved, that I know he must be God’s answer to my prayer.
For the longest moment, he just looks at me. I feel like I’ll unravel in the brilliance of those ice blue eyes. I’m so thrown off I whisper exactly what I’m thinking.
“Are you here to take me?”
His lips curl slowly, into something that’s not at all a smile. My heart stops as he steps slightly closer.
