Death: a word Mia Baron was all too familiar with since the murder of her parents when she was a young girl. Her drive for vengeance was the reason she became a Death Dealer—a soul guide through the spirit realm—signing her life away in her own blood. Pain forged a concrete wall around her heart and no one or nothing would ever penetrate it…until she got what she desired most—revenge.

Deacon Gage craves justice for his own horrific tragedy that forced him into the same life Mia chose, with the same promise of vengeance dangling just out of reach. His expert training makes him an Elite—one of the few Death Dealers to ever achieve such a status—and no one can shift his focus from the blood he seeks.

But when the two are partnered for yet another job and a heart-shattering case rips open Mia’s heart, Deacon realizes he’s the only one who can save her…at a price that might be too much to pay: opening his heart to her. The clock is ticking and her life hangs on the balance of whether he can truly let go or will hold onto his desire for blood.

 Amy’s Review:

4_5-stars

I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when starting this book or if I would even like it. I obviously knew it was about a death dealer but that is about it. I can say that I loved the book. The Author came up with characters that just amazed me. Details that took me a minute and a re-read to get but also amazing. Mia and Deacon had simple jobs but ones that could prove tough for anyone.

This book started out with making me tear up and ready to cry. As you read this book you will absolutely fall in love with the characters. I felt the rage that Mia felt. I felt the love that Deacon felt.  These two characters were simply awesome. So many emotions that run through this book. I was upset at the abrupt ending and that is why this book only rated 4.5 stars. The ended had me kinda of lost. I kept hitting the next page thinking I was missing something. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what else happens with Mia and Deacon.

If you like paranormal books you should definitely check this one out.

  1. Thanks for featuring me on your blog and for the wonderful review. I’m working hard to get Blood Promise (book 2) ready to publish as I had intended it to be available much sooner (which is why book 1 ended the way it did) 🙂 But I still hoped my readers would find it a happy ending. Looking forward to getting book 2 in your hands and hearing your thoughts. ~AR

    • The ending is a happy ending. I was just disappointed that it ended when it did. I wanted so much more and was not ready for it to be over. 🙂 I really enjoyed this book and can not wait to read book two. I need to know what happens between these two. Lol.

      • That’s the only problem I’m finding with novellas…they do end too soon. I hoped the teaser chapter of book 2 helped a little…and book 2 is already going to be a bit longer of a novella with more action, drama, romance, and another unpredictable twist 🙂 Thanks again. I appreciate you. ~AR
