ability to withstand the sun should make them gods on earth. Instead
they are forced to live in fear. Their ability to create a stronger more
powerful army of vampires has Master Vampires all over the world waging
wars to find them and Sentinels determined to get them.
Even as they fight for their freedom they know that one day they’ll have to choose a side….
of years ago a war was started on earth between God and Lucifer after
Lucifer left the confines of Hell to steal much needed human souls.
of anger, God punished Lucifer, sealing him in Hell and away from his
children. God decreed that as long as there was even one human soul left
on earth, Lucifer could not leave Hell. Knowing that he couldn’t
outright destroy God’s precious children without feeling God’s wrath,
Lucifer did the only thing he was allowed, he released one Vladerc demon
He used God’s rules against him not caring that once
the demon was released he could not release another. It didn’t matter.
He’d chosen well. The Vladerc demon not only fed on humans stealing
their souls, but the demon could also turn humans into hybrid Vladercs
who would steal more human souls until only his demons inhabited the
earth freeing him. Free Will stopped God from interfering on Earth
leaving Lucifer’s demon to spread his disease.
Or so he thought….
the rules to his advantage God sent five of his elite Angel warriors to
earth every ten years. To keep them from becoming too powerful or
easily detected by Lucifer’s children he split their souls in half and
merged each half with a human soul. He named them Sentinels for they
protected his greatest treasure, his children. He blessed them with
longevity, strength, speed and the only thing he could think of to thank
them for their sacrifice as well as keep them loyal to him….
A soul mate.

the one neighbor that you wish you could club upside the head, throw in
the back of your trunk, and dump a hundred miles into the woods all
while giggling hysterically and promising yourself that this time would

of the night, steals your parking spot, leaves their alarm clock
blasting twenty-four seven and just annoys the living hell out of you.
What if I told you that this person really wasn’t so bad once you got to
know him and that by the time I’m done spinning you a tale that not
only will you find all of his quirks endearing, but that you’ll fall
head over heels in love with him? What would you say then?

partner can make you contemplate manslaughter.

There was something seriously wrong with Marty. That was the only
explanation that she could come up with. Why else would she feel this
way for the biggest SOB in town? Granted, he was also the hottest man in
town, but he was also arrogant, callous, and determined to drive her
away even as he drove her crazy with his touch. She should just walk
away from him and probably would if it wasn’t for this connection that
she’d always had with him that kept making her want more with the one

Not everyone will grieve in this order, nor will everyone go through every stage. It’s during the stage of denial when Alex Hart meets Andrew Foster. He takes her one-step closer to acceptance: the stage when new, meaningful relationships are formed. The stage when the realization occurs that this is now the new state of normal.
Just when Alex thinks she is on her way to healing, she enters the bargaining phase. That’s the phase where you wonder what you could have done differently. You wonder “what if?” Specifically, what if the ones you loved hadn’t left you?
Leaving…this is what makes heading off to war so difficult and frightening for Alex. She knows all too well what it’s like to be the one on the losing end of life, which is why she’s made it her personal mission in life to save as many lives as possible. The extreme high she gets from treating trauma victims turns into Alex’s own form of therapy, or so she thinks.
When faced with her world being turned upside down, Alex may just find that her true therapy is in the one who has always saved her.
Nicole’s Review ~~
This book was such an emotional rollercoaster that I actually had to take a day to decompress before I felt like I would be able to write the review. Within the first chapter I was messaging my co-blogger telling her I was going to kick her since she asked me to do this review. I did not want to kick her out of anger or meanness but because this book was so absolutely touching that I was choking up while at work. It was to the point that I would have to put my phone down so I could clear my eyes and be able to read the words…lol.
Alex is your average 15 year old young lady who is going to be spending the summer with her grandparents while her parents go on vacation. Alex is beyond excited to spend this time with her grandparents, she has tons of love for her family and enjoys being with them. Unfortunately for Alex fate is getting ready to rip her world apart and take from her two of the most important people in her life. This happens so quickly and abruptly that like Alex your breath is stolen from you and you are just a devastated as this young girl and find yourself wondering how is she going to recover.
Alex is suffering so greatly that she just needs space, time and room to breathe. She is feeling overwhelmed and heads to the creek to get this freedom and that is where she meets Drew. What to say about Drew he is a 17 year old young man who seems to understand Alex like no one else can. He says all the right things to her and you can just tell how much he truly cares for this girl he doesn’t even know. As the weeks pass Alex and Drew form a bond that you would think nothing could destroy. However when there are secrets kept from each other those bonds can be destroyed in the blink of an eye.
After yet another devastation Alex dives into all things school and decides she is going to be a doctor and the specialty is near and dear to her heart. In order for this to happen she decides to join the military to help fund her schooling. Due to all her heartbreak she lives off the rush she gets being the first person to help aide injured soldiers. However war is deadly and extremely dangerous.
Just as she thinks things are one way another curveball is thrown her way and now she has a huge decision to make. Can she let go of the past, listen to what truly was the case and most importantly open her heart to someone who has already devastated her once before.
Please do yourself a favor and pick up this read, just do not read it in public if you are like me and get emotionally attached to the characters. I was able to completely connect with the characters and the story line. There was not a point in this book that I was unhappy with how things were going. I prefer books that are like this and that is to say that it shows true life or at the very least isn’t hearts and flowers all the time.

Title: Taming Cross
Author: Ella James
Series: Love Inc
Genre: NA Romantic Suspense
ROMANTIC SUSPENSE FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR ELLA JAMES…
For twenty-three years, Cross Carlson was a playboy. You know the type. Tall, dark, and wealthy. Blue-eyed. Charming. He seemed to have it all so easy. But Cross was harboring a terrible secret – one that helped ruin the life of an innocent girl and almost ended his own.
Finally out of the hospital, Cross is flailing, scarred in both body and mind and stifled by the weight of the secret he still keeps. The only way to absolution lies in a Mexican convent, and going there could cost him everything.
If there’s anyone who knows what it’s like to screw up big time, it’s Meredith Kinsey. Just a few years ago, Merri was an ordinary girl with a job at her college newspaper and white picket fence kind of dreams. Now she’s holed up in a Mexican convent, hiding from a drug lord who thinks he owns her.
What happens when the only way out of hell is with the son of the man who put you there? They say love conquers all, but does it really?
NOTE: Cross and Merri’s story is a Love Inc. Book. It features some characters from Selling Scarlett, but it follows a completely different story line can be read as a stand-alone.
*Taming Cross is a new adult romance novel and is not intended for young readers due to violence, sexual situations, and mature language.
Sister opens the door to a small reading room with green carpet and white bookshelves, and we pause before going in. All at once she pulls me to her chest and kisses my head.
“Be brave, Merri, my love. You must do what you must do. We only want what’s best for you.”
And then she…leaves. She leaves me here, before I even see who’s in the room.
For the longest second, I stay on the threshold, staring at the man who is facing the bookshelf. My eyes run down the length of him, expecting to find Jesus or one of his Sicarios, but that’s not what I find.
I don’t know who this man is. He’s tall, with dark hair and large bones. Long legs, wide back, big shoulders. He looks lean, almost sick, because I can tell he shouldn’t be. He reminds me of a starved lion I saw once in a documentary.
He turns toward me slowly, and as he moves I’m frozen, like in those nightmares where you’re being chased but you can’t run.
At first I’m not looking at his features—only the expression, which is somehow both solemn and surprised. And I feel like I’ve been struck dead, because he has an angel’s face. It’s not just the flawless blue of his eyes or his celebrity-perfect bones. It’s not his perfect, straight-line nose or that lush, cherubic mouth. It’s not his smooth skin. It’s what I see inside his eyes. Something so intense, so sad, so ecstatic, so relieved, that I know he must be God’s answer to my prayer.
For the longest moment, he just looks at me. I feel like I’ll unravel in the brilliance of those ice blue eyes. I’m so thrown off I whisper exactly what I’m thinking.
“Are you here to take me?”
His lips curl slowly, into something that’s not at all a smile. My heart stops as he steps slightly closer.
This book is part of a series following Selling Scarlett. This book tells you more about what happens after Selling Scarlett. It can be read by itself but is better in my opinion to read after the first one.
If I remember correctly I gave Selling Scarlett 5 stars. The reason this one only has 4 is because to me it wasn’t as good as the first one. Don’t get me wrong it was a great book and I love Cross but this one was just missing something for me.
Merri is a beautiful woman but I could not stand her through some of the book. She was strong through some and then she just seemed to cry all the time. That seemed to be all she did. Her story is heart wrenching but the secret that she kept to me wasn’t as big as she mad it out to be. For me I liked Merri about 50% and disliked her the other 50%. I did love when she started saying “fracking” and had Cross saying it too.
Cross of course is great and shows strength and heroism. I loved him in this book even though him always ending up in the hospital after spending most of the first book in the hospital was to much. Poor boy can’t do anything but get hurt and end up in the hospital. I am glad to see he moved on. I hate that he still didn’t like Hunter.
I wished this book would of had maybe the wedding in it. I would love a book to see more of what happens with the first couple. I did enjoy the book I just felt it was a little predictable.. For those that have problems with errors while reading. Here is your warning there are errors. I would still recommend this book to people. It’s a good follow up to Selling Scarlett.
Check out the first book in the Love Inc Series: Selling Scarlett
Elizabeth DeVille doesn’t belong at a party like this – one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.
Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.
When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter’s den of vices, she’s a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn’t have, and she’s come up with a foolproof way to get it.
Follow Elizabeth – code-named Scarlett – to the lush Nevada brothel where she’ll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that’s not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil’s mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life.
**Mature Content Warning** Not recommended for readers under the age of 17 due to mature language, sexual content, and violence.

**Contains graphic content involving the sensitive topic of rape and its aftermath. Not intended for teens under 18.**
Sometimes bad things happen to beautiful people.
When socialite party girl Mia Abbott-Renou wakes up in a garden she has little recall of the previous night — except that she is naked…hurt…terrified. Not only has she been raped, but she knows one of her assailants: the son of a wealthy politician who happens to be her own father’s political ally.
Mia wants and needs justice. Except this privileged boy has an alibi and her father forbids her from going to the police. It’s a critical election year, one that his party might lose if his image as a doting father is soured due to Mia being labeled a lush or worse, promiscuous.
Devastated at not having the support of her family, Mia finds herself in a tug-of-war with her conscience over what to do, especially since she can’t remember exactly what happened that night. Worse, the men who attacked her have hurt several other girls, and Mia may be the key to stopping them.
Mia tries to forget, until the unthinkable happens, and she’s left reeling once again until she realizes that her strength will bring healing and unlocking her memories will bring justice.
Nicole’s Review ~~
I really have no clue where to start this review, I have been playing it over in my head for the last two days. I guess I need to stress that this book does surround a the very sensitive subject of rape and the fall out from it. If you are not into reading then don’t bother picking it up. With that said though if you are curious about a well written book the touchs on this subject this is by far your best choice.
Chloe Adams did a phenomenal job in writing this story of 17 year old Mia who suffered the unthinkable by someone she knew and had the chance of running into. While reading this story I wanted to cry, throw my iPad out the window, scream in frustration and just hold Mia in my arms and let her know she was loved and didn’t deserve what happened to her.
Mia comes a rich political family and more than anything she wants to tear away and be something different. She balks and the fakeness that this life holds for her. Her mother is a drunk and her father cares for nothing but his political aspirations. After Mia is raped neither mother nor father are there for her. All she has is the PR rep cousin and family lawyer Chris. Mia does find strength and safety in her best friend and Dom the cop that finds her after the rape.
As the story continues you will be gutted but how little Mia’s family cares for her. How more important winning an election is. How keeping alliances closer than taking care of your child. Dom is absolutely the sweetest man ever written about you can tell he cares for Mia but at the same time he needs and wants her to do what is right.
I cannot wait to see how this story is going to play out. Will Mia stand up for herself, will something more besides safety bloom between Dom and Mia. But most importantly is can this one young woman find the person she wants to be and recover from this horrific event. You will be amazed at Mia’s story and all the twist turns, lies and deception and in my eyes mental abuse by her family.

memories aside. Hoisting my gym bag over my shoulder, I head towards the
entrance. A few men in workout clothes come up behind me, laughing and joking
with each other. Sometimes I wish I had close friends, instead of being such a
loner. The people I knew in LA were all superficial and out for fame. Already
feeling nervous about try-outs, I didn’t want to get in their way. I step aside
to let them pass, but one of the guys stops and looks at me.
“Hey, you need help?” I’m captured by his
eyes. Bright green pools, handsome face, the sick feeling in my stomach gains
force. It’s Brent. The man of my nightmares and dating fears.
“No, actually, I have to go,” I stutter as
I turn to run back to my car.
“Hey, wait. Are you here for tryouts? You’re
going the right way.” He reaches a hand out to grab my arm and as I pull
away, I trip over my own damn feet, falling right into him.
“Here,” he says, wrapping his arms around
my waist. Fire surges through my body as he touches the bare skin on my stomach.
His face looks somber, and he doesn’t laugh at my clumsiness as I expected. “Let
me help you. I didn’t mean to frighten you.” Sucking up my pride, I push
off of him, maneuvering myself out of his grasp. My hand flies up to straighten
the high ponytail I had been instructed to put my hair up in.
“Do I know you?” he asks me.
“No, sorry. This way you said?” I point
towards the garage door open in the underside of the stadium. He nods and turns
to head that way.
“Here, I’ll show you the way. I’m Brent.”
“Thanks,” I say, trying to avoid giving him
my name. We walk silently into the building and I stop for a moment for my eyes
to adjust to the darkness.
asks me, trying to make conversation. Nodding my head, I continue down the
hallway towards the field opening.
“Woods, you’re late, let’s get going. Didn’t your agent tell you to get here
early?” The loud petite woman at the other end of the hallway yells down to us.
“Stop flirting with the players and hustle.” Moving to a jog, I rush past her,
leaving the dark hallway behind for the sun covered football field. I’ve been
here for games before, but never down on the field. Everything looks so huge,
and yes, still intimidating. The cheerleaders are all at one end and the
players at the other. Seeing as how they have already drafted and pulled
together their team, they are just here for typical practice. Men move back and
forth, running laps around the end zone and tackling into each other.
“Coleson, get your ass moving,” a man yells from the practice end.
“Brianna, let’s go, we’re over here, get signed in and start warming up.”
Snapping out of my awe, I turn towards her.

Finding Kia Synopsis
“Maybe you should avoid me tonight.”
His arm slipped around my waist and I was drawn into his chest. “If I only have this one night with you, the last thing I’m going to do is stay away.”
Kia Valentines had always accepted the fact that she was a nerd, a nobody. It was a badge she wore with honor, until the day she saved Claudia DeLorenzo’s life and lost herself.
When offered the chance to shed her identity for a single night, Kia never believed it would change her life. It was one night. It meant nothing, or it shouldn’t have. But that single night turned out to be her undoing when she finds passion in the arms of the one person she can never have.
Adam Chaves was more than just a gorgeous face, he made her laugh, but more importantly, when he looked at her, she felt like the most beautiful girl on earth. But Adam has no idea that Kia was the girl behind the mask and Kia has no intention of telling him. But a secret can only be kept if no one else knows about it. Claudia knows and she wants something Kia isn’t willing to give in order to keep it.
Will Kia succumb? And just how far is Claudia willing to go to get what she wants?
I just finished reading this book in 3 hours. I could not put it down. This book was absolutely amazing. Another outstanding book by the lovely Airicka Phoenix.
My heart is still racing and I am sitting here antsy because the book ended way to soon for me. This is book one to a trilogy and I am dying for book two. These characters are amazing. Adam and Kia completely stole my heart. Kia is so cute and goes through what a lot of girls in high school do. Adam is the preppy boy from another school.
Kia swears that Adam would never want a girl like her. It doesn’t help that she had someone else telling her the same things. Little does Kia know Adam liked her from the start. It is such a cute high school love story.
Right from the start the Author has you laughing and wanting more. One of my favorite parts that had me giggling for awhile is:
“What the hell’s a yure?”
“The love-child of yes and sure?”
This book had me hanging on till the last word. I am hoping that book two comes out soon. I really need to know what happens. All of Airicka Phonix’s books are amazing but if you have never read one of hers this would be a great one to start with. Her writing is awesome and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next. Definitely recommend to everyone. A must read.
Then he was in front of me, trapping me between him and the counter. He braced his hands on either side of my hips, locking me in place.
“You look different,” he mused, face inches from mine, his breath smelling of mint.
“I… I’m not wearing my glasses,” I croaked, barely breathing.
His eyes narrowed. His hand lifted. His fingers glided through the strands falling over my eyes, sweeping them aside. “Your hair’s different.”
“Just my hair?”
His gaze dropped over my face, stopping at my lips. “I don’t know. You’ve always been beaut—”
