Broken Beauty (Broken Beauty Novellas) by Lizzy Ford as Chloe Adams

**Contains graphic content involving the sensitive topic of rape and its aftermath. Not intended for teens under 18.**

Sometimes bad things happen to beautiful people.

When socialite party girl Mia Abbott-Renou wakes up in a garden she has little recall of the previous night — except that she is naked…hurt…terrified. Not only has she been raped, but she knows one of her assailants: the son of a wealthy politician who happens to be her own father’s political ally.

Mia wants and needs justice. Except this privileged boy has an alibi and her father forbids her from going to the police. It’s a critical election year, one that his party might lose if his image as a doting father is soured due to Mia being labeled a lush or worse, promiscuous.

Devastated at not having the support of her family, Mia finds herself in a tug-of-war with her conscience over what to do, especially since she can’t remember exactly what happened that night. Worse, the men who attacked her have hurt several other girls, and Mia may be the key to stopping them.

Mia tries to forget, until the unthinkable happens, and she’s left reeling once again until she realizes that her strength will bring healing and unlocking her memories will bring justice.

“A red hot office romance that will leave you panting! And possibly pantless…I wanted to be besties with Rory. I wanted to lick Lucah. And I wanted to buy post-it notes in bulk and stash them in my nightstand. 😉
All I can say is…THE POST-IT NOTE SCENE! *swoon*”
-Chelsea Fine, author of Best Kind of Broken

She’s his boss. He doesn’t care. This office isn’t big enough for the two of them…

When Rory Clarke ends up hiring the guy she spent one steamy night with to be her administrative assistant, she’s determined to keep things professional.

Lucas Blaine has other plans for her. He wants Rory, and it’s hard to resist his stunning blue eyes, chin dimple and the way he fills out a suit. Everywhere she looks, there he is, giving her a panty-melting smile and pulling her away for the most amazing (and satisfying) sex she’s ever had in her life.

What starts off as one sexual encounter turns into multiple trysts in and out of the office and the lines she’d tried to draw so carefully are blurring. But the closer they get, the more Rory realizes that there are things about Lucas she doesn’t know, things he’s hiding from her. She’ll have to decide if she can surrender to her feelings or get out while she still can.

Never Let Go (NLG) by Scarlett Edwards

Inspired by true events…

The first day of college gives every girl a chance to reinvent herself.

I go and screw mine up by meeting the most gorgeous guy I’ve seen in five years while talking to my cat.

But Andrew Crowner is far from judgmental. By the end of our interaction, he has me smitten by his easy manner and kind smile. And from the way his eyes linger on me before he leaves, I start to think that maybe I’ve caught his attention, too.

I let myself believe that luck may finally be on my side. That is, until I stumble on my roommate, and her overnight guest: Spencer Ashford.

Lean, tattooed, and sexy as sin, Spencer is exactly the type I need to avoid. I would have no trouble with that… were it not for his swift and inexplicable interest in me.

Suddenly, I go from a girl with next-to-no experience with boys to one caught in the crosshairs of two completely different men.

Andrew’s interest is wholesome and sweet. Spencer’s is edgy and raw. My choice should be easy. But there are always complications, and sometimes, matters of the heart take the least expected turns.

Break My Fall (No Limits) by J.T. Cameron

After his own tragedy a few years ago, Drew developed an entirely new and unique outlook on life and became a risk-taker, daring and dangerous, everything Leah wanted to avoid. Until a bizarre encounter forces her to let Drew into her life, little by little, secret by secret. He’s smart, funny, persistent, and makes money in a rather unconventional way.

They share a mutual fascination and attraction, until her past with Kevin complicates her present with Drew, making Leah question her future. Just as her life seems to be spinning out of control, Leah learns that sometimes you save someone by letting them save you.

Undertow by Ambe Lynn Natusch

How far does a girl have to run to escape a lifetime of pain and loss at the hands of Alaska’s notoriously unforgiving Bering Sea? Twenty-seven-year-old Aesa Fredriksen thought landlocked Columbus, Ohio would suffice, and it does until the fear of regret drives her to return to Dutch Harbor in a final attempt to make amends with her nearly-estranged father. Intent on salvaging the wreckage of their relationship, she reluctantly agrees to join him—the only family she has left—as he heads out to fish for king crab, forcing her to brave the very waters that pulled him away from her as a child. The waters that stole her mother’s life.
When the day finally arrives for the Norwegian Queen to sail off into an uncertain future, Aesa can’t help but fear the worst. Beyond the violent swells and impending storms, there is far more than death and danger awaiting her on her journey: love awaits her too.

Decker, a young but seasoned member of her father’s crew, is a force of nature as strong as Aesa, He’s her perfect match, and even she can’t deny it. But he too is a man of the sea, and with memories of tragedy and abandonment etched so deeply into her mind, can she overcome her demons and let him in or will she drown in her darkness, forever caught in its undertow?

Breathless by Dakota Harrison

She ran half a world away to escape from her past…and found the one man who can heal her heart.
It’s been three years since a seemingly insignificant decision destroyed Emma’s life. Western Colorado is a long way for an Australian girl to run from the suffocating guilt she feels, but it isn’t far enough.
So she’s made herself a promise: No men, no responsibility. Ever again. That was before her pipes burst, and the crusty old plumber she was expecting turns out to be six-foot-two of brooding hardbody with a killer smile—which he rarely aims in her direction.
Gabe doesn’t like it. Even through a layer of plaster dust, Emma’s beauty shines through and grabs him hard. Her laugh wraps around his lungs until he forgets how to breathe. But he’s still looking for pieces of the broken heart another woman’s betrayal left in its wake. Pretty women are trouble, end of story.
Too bad no one told his determinedly matchmaking sister. Her efforts could crash and burn, for all he cares. He’s not interested, not now, now ever. Now if he could only convince his body.
Warning: Contains a relationship-shy woman driven across the world to escape her past, a gun-shy rancher with secrets of his own, and enough sexual tension to leave shyness eating their dust.

Absorbed (Devoured) by Emily Snow

Lucas Wolfe has come close to happiness with Sienna, not once but twice. And both times he’s lost her because of his own fears. Sienna is good for his music, and his life, and he’s determined to show her that she belongs with him.

No matter what the consequences.

*This 20,000 word novella takes place near the end of Devoured (after Chapter 19) and is told in Lucas’s POV but also features a few chapters in Kylie Wolfe’s POV. Please note that if you have not read Devoured or Savor You, this novella contains many spoilers!

***Review of Undeclared by Jen Frederick***

For four years, Grace Sullivan wrote to a Marine she never met, and fell in love. But when his deployment ended, so did the letters. Ever since that day, Grace has been coasting, academically and emotionally. The one thing she’s decided? No way is Noah Jackson — or any man — ever going to break her heart again.

Noah has always known exactly what he wants out of life. Success. Stability. Control. That’s why he joined the Marines and that’s why he’s fighting his way — literally — through college. Now that he’s got the rest of his life on track, he has one last conquest: Grace Sullivan. But since he was the one who stopped writing, he knows that winning her back will be his biggest battle yet.

This is a mature New Adult book. I see that it is classified as YA – not sure how to change that – but I wanted to be clear that it has explicit love scenes in the story.

Nicole’s Review ~

Wow, I am sucker for a military man and Noah did not disappoint, well maybe a little but that is because he is a man and was a little confused. I absolutely love Grace she is your typical young woman who is not quite sure what she wants to do with her life. Noah and Grace both had rough childhoods and both faced their own form of struggle due to this.

Noah and Grace has been pen pals for 4 years while Noah is deployed at first for Grace it was a school assignment and for Noah his superior told the men they had to respond. What I liked the most was that you got a tiny glimpse of the first letters back and forth and then you were pulled into the present day and with each chapter you were given a little more of these letters.

In Noah’s mind because he didn’t have money and still needed to adjust to civilian life all over again he decided to cut all ties with Grace. Grace is beyond heartbroken because she has fallen in love with her solider and he has basically dismissed her now that he is home.

Grace moves forward or so it appears with her life attending college and living with her cousin. Underneath this though you start to see the young girl who has lost people and is scared to move forward. I loved this about Grace it made her more relatable because we have all been at that point in our lives that we didn’t know what to do or where scared of rejection.

Noah isn’t the smoothest of operators when it comes to women and that’s because they have always just come to him. When he sends Grace the letter letting her know he doesn’t see as more than a little sister in his mind he believes once he is where he wants to be in life she will just accept him. He does expect a little bit of a fight but he is not completely prepared for her reaction to him or her resistance to hear him out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how these two came together. There are times where the book dragged a little but it was well worth it in the end. Also I did find a few places when things were repeated and that was a little frustrating. If you love your military men and you like the more related female leads then this book is totally for you.

And who better to turn her into the sultry siren every man wants than her brother’s gorgeous best friend, Will Sumner, venture capitalist and unapologetic playboy?

Will takes risks for a living, but he’s skeptical about this challenge of Hanna’s…until the wild night his innocently seductive pupil tempts him into bed- and teaches him a thing or two about being with a woman he can’t forget. Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams

The fabulous New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling, funny, and deeply emotional tale of passion and secrets, deception and forgiveness

A matter of secrets . . .

Undercover cop Logan “Kash” Ryan can’t afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him.

A matter of lies . . .

Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel’s willpower to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love . . .

As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel’s heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies . . . or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Seductive Secrecy (Shadows 2) by Mani Mann

“We were two broken souls who had found each other in a world of shadows. We were held together by a connection of secrets, dark and fearful and reluctant to leave. Their depth was seductive and overwhelming, an endless ocean of black that threatened to cover the brilliance we kept reaching for with each other.”

With her art career flourishing and the mansion predators no longer a threat, Charlie is creating a new life. Her desires have changed, and she has a chance at a healthy, loving relationship with Cameron–if they can bury the memories and doubts that plague them.

Can they overcome the destruction of their clouded pasts, or will the revelation of more painful, shocking secrets pull them back into the shadows?

All the Pieces (Pieces of Lies 3) by Angela Richardson

When so much love has been built from lies and manipulation, how much of that love is real?

In ALL THE PIECES, the third and final installment in the Pieces of Lies series, we find Norah in a dangerous and heart pounding situation in London with the Lappell. It will be the collision of two worlds that have done nothing but tear Norah down the middle, and love that has torn her apart.

In this story, we find out that the biggest mystery of all is not what is said, but what isn’t.
Will the truth set Norah’s heart free? And will it all end in tragedy or happiness?

*NOTE: This is a new adult novel with some mature sexual content.

**REVIEW** The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

Ira Levinson is in trouble. At ninety-one years old, in poor health and alone in the world, he finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. Suffering multiple injuries, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes and comes into focus beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.

A few miles away, at a local rodeo, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward — even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans — a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.

Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.

Amy’s Review:

As most know I am a big Nicholas Sparks fan. I have every one of his books sitting on my bookshelf and I love every one of them. Nicholas Sparks has a way of putting true love in a book. A way to make you crave for that same love in real life. He makes things feel real. Nicholas Sparks will have you hooked from page one till the very end.

The way this book played out was new and exciting but also very sad. I loved Ira. I loved that even at an old age he hung on. I love that he had that true love with his wife. That he had that special person that was by his side and loved him just as much as he loved her. I love that they shared something special such as the paintings.

Luke and Sophia… Luke being a sexy bull rider and Sophia a sweet college student. They meet one night due to Sophia’s ex starting problems with her after a Rodeo. Luke is so sweet. I absolutely loved him. Fell in love with him from the moment he spoke. To watch these two grow as a couple was amazing. You can’t help but to love them both.

The ending of this book was amazing and a nice surprise. I didn’t see it coming at all and it was so sweet how it played out. Just like the rest of his books I loved this one. I loved how real the love felt, how real the characters were and how I could picture everything as I was reading his book. This is an amazing Author and I think everyone should grab one of his books. You will fall in love from page one. 😉

About the Author

As a child, Nicholas Sparks lived in Minnesota, Los Angeles, and Grand Island, Nebraska, finally settling in Fair Oaks, California at the age of eight. His father was a professor, his mother a homemaker, then optometrist’s assistant. He lived in Fair Oaks through high school, graduated valedictorian in 1984, and received a full track scholarship to the University of Notre Dame.

After breaking the Notre Dame school record as part of a relay team in 1985 as a freshman (a record which still stands), he was injured and spent the summer recovering. During that summer, he wrote his first novel, though it was never published. He majored in Business Finance and graduated with high honors in 1988.

He and his wife Catherine, who met on spring break in 1988, were married in July, 1989. While living in Sacramento, he wrote his second novel that same year, though again, it wasn’t published. He worked a variety of jobs over the next three years, including real estate appraisal, waiting tables, selling dental products by phone, and started his own small manufacturing business which struggled from the beginning. In 1990, he collaborated on a book with Billy Mills, the Olympic Gold Medalist and it was published by Feather Publishing before later being picked up by Random House. (It was recently re-issued by Hay House Books.) Though it received scant publicity, sales topped 50,000 copies in the first year of release.

He began selling pharmaceuticals and moved from Sacramento, California to North Carolina in 1992. In 1994, at the age of 28, he wrote The Notebook over a period of six months. In October, 1995, rights to The Notebook were sold to Warner Books. It was published in October, 1996, and he followed that with Message in a Bottle (1998), A Walk to Remember (1999), The Rescue (2000), A Bend in the Road (2001), and Nights in Rodanthe (2002), The Guardian (2003), The Wedding (2003), Three Weeks with my Brother (2004), True Believer (2005) and At First Sight (2005) all with Warner Books. All were domestic and international best sellers and were translated into more than 35 languages. The movie version of Message in a Bottle was released in 1999, A Walk to Remember was released in 2002, and The Notebook was released in 2004. The average domestic box office gross per film was $56 million — with another $100 million in DVD sales — making the novels by Nicholas Sparks one of the most successful franchises in Hollywood.

The film rights to Nights in Rodanthe, True Believer and At First Sight have been sold, and Nicholas Sparks has written the screenplay for The Guardian, though he has not offered it for sale at this point.

He now has five children: Miles, Ryan, Landon, Lexie, and Savannah. He lives in North Carolina with his wife and children.

His ancestry is German, Czech, English, and Irish, he’s 5’10” and weighs 180 lbs. He is an avid athlete who runs daily, lifts weights regularly, and competes in Tae Kwon Do. He attends church regularly and reads approximately 125 books a year. He contributes to a variety of local and national charities, and is a major contributor to the Creative Writing Program (MFA) at the University of Notre Dame, where he provides scholarships, internships, and a fellowship annually.

Save the world or save her?

Nathan’s job for the past three thousand years has been to clean up supernatural messes. Jaded, ruthlessly effective and selfless, he’s seen it all and can handle anything – demons, homicidal angels, even bad bosses.

His latest challenge: A creature named Shadowman is seeking out three keys it believes will open a portal between earth and hell. Nathan must eliminate the human host guiding Shadowman to the keys. Except Nathan isn’t expecting the woman anchoring Shadowman to the human world to be beautiful, innocent and completely unaware of the creature manipulating her. Worse, she makes him feel alive for the first time in his long existence.

Kaylee convinces herself stress and a tired mind are to blame for the ominous presence following her everywhere. On a routine visit to a client’s workplace, she stumbles across a deaf girl with a supernatural gift who warns Kaylee about Shadowman – and then stabs her.

No longer able to pretend stress is the problem, Kaylee turns to the mysterious man who promised he can help, only to discover his plans for her may not involve her surviving the ordeal. She has nowhere else to go and no one else to trust. Does she take a chance on Nathan or risk facing Shadowman alone?

Amy’s Review:

5 Stars - Pink

Another book that deserves more then 5 stars. I loved this book. Another to add to the favorites list. I have never read a book about Angels and demons before so I was very interested to see how Lizzy Ford would play this one. I have to say it was amazing and I have the urge to read it again and again.

Nathan was amazing. Can we say another hot alpha man to add to Lizzy Ford’s growing list of amazing men. I loved his attitude. Loved the way he thought and how he had a no nonsense way. Everything about Nathan to me ROCKED.. Nathan did his job like no other Guardians. He did what was needed to be done to get things where it needed to be. He didn’t care about rules and in the end every reincarnated Angel trusted him and went to him when they needed help. Loved naked reiki. 😉

Kaylee was a sweet girl that got thrown in the middle of everything and not by choice. She had no clue as to what was really going on in life until Nathan came around. She hated her boss and really hated her job. Her life went to hell when everything started coming out about the shadow that followed her everywhere. Slowly learning all that was really going on in her life was scary for her but she never gave up.

Amira is a deaf girl that is responsible of protecting one of the most important things in the world. She is a sweet reincarnated Angel who has a little extra powers then the other reincarnated Angels. You can’t help but to fall in love with her.

Troy… Another one like Nathan. You get a glimpse of Troy in this story and even thought its not a whole lot you can’t help but to fall in love with him and crave more.

Now on to my favorite. Yes I know this is crazy. Shadowman. Oh how I love Shadowman. He is the shadow that follows Kaylee around. And even though I should really dislike him. Hate him even. I can’t help but to love him. Call me crazy.

This is a must read. If you love Lizzy Ford books then you already know this. If you have never picked up a Lizzy Ford book then I suggest you head on over and snatch this one up. Amazing. I don’t think I can say that enough about this book.

Nicole’s Review:

As you all know we are huge Lizzy Ford fans and this book like all her others did not disappoint. You may ask why only 4.5 stars this go round, well simple it took me a few chapters before it all clicked. Now of course I have been in a reading funk so that could have played a part, but let me tell you once it clicks you will be sucked in.

We start out with Amira and young lady who happens to be deaf and has a huge secret that she has to keep safe. Her Guardian is doing everything and anything to protect her. Unfortunately a tragic event happens and Amira is forced to run and hide. Your heart will completely go out to Amira and her struggles. She is so smart, genuine and a heart big as the world. There are moments you just want to crawl into this book and give her a hug and tell all will be well.

We then met Nathan a Guardian who has a less than stellar record. Nate has some odd ball ways to get the job done and in his mind as long as he is doing his job that’s all that matters. Nate will have you cracking up laughing with the way he handles situations. His first scene had me dying I could not believe what he was doing. Loved his character from beginning to end.

Next up is Kaylee, wow wee this poor girl is having all kinds of issues. She has a completely and utter moron/jerk for a boss. She ends up being stabbed while with her boss at a mental institute (you have to read to know what is really happening), she has Shadowman following her every step and oh yeah she has no clue to the supernatural world that is getting ready to suck her in. Even though things seem to be falling apart for her Kaylee holds her head up high and keeps moving. I totally admire this character.

Lastly there is Troy *sigh*, if you can’t tell this is my favorite character lol. Troy has suffered a great loss and you will feel his pain and want to do exactly what Amira is trying to do, which is heal him. We don’t get a lot of Troy but what you do get will have you waiting to hear more of his story.

I really did enjoy this book and can not wait for the second one to come. There is so much that can go on with this storyline that it is so exciting. On one more personal note my daughter Katelyn is deaf and was born with brain damage as a reader I notice a lot of authors never really touch on disabilities which in of itself is sad. However Lizzy did a fantastic job with writing a deaf character and the struggles they go through. Lizzy received a message from me when I was thanking her and telling her what a wonderful job she did.

But when the serial killer who has been terrorizing the streets of the French Quarter sets his sights on Genevieve, the lovers realize they’ve both let down their guard. And losing control could have fatal consequences?

Amy’s Review:

What to say about this book?

Genevieve is a strong and independent homicide detective. She is the only female in homicide and has to take heat from the LT from time to time because of it. Does she let this bring her down. Hell No. She has an awesome partner, Shawn who works perfectly with her.

After a long day of working cases she heads to the bar where she meets Cole and goes home with him.

Ohh how to explain Cole? HOT is the first thing that comes to mind. Sexy, demanding, domineering, sweet at times but most of all HOT. He is there to try and get Genevieve to open an old case. His sisters death from seven years before. What he didn’t expect was the chemistry between the two and the overpowering need to possess her.

During the ups and downs of their relationship Genevieve has dead girls popping up through her district. While trying to track down the killer and deal with her feelings for Cole, the killer fixates on Genevieve. Makes calls, emails, and sends gifts. Freaky.

This book was great. I absolutely love erotica. My only complaint was this book seemed to be more about the sex when I personally like a lot more story to go along with the sex. It felt like you got a long sex scene then a short life scene then back to the long sex scene. I would of just like more story behind all the sex. Now do not get me wrong. I LOVED the sex. It was hot and steamy and not to crazy. :).

This book is erotica and thriller wrapped into one. Which I love. It did keep you on the edge of the seat till the end to find out what next and who.. I have to admit I thought Shawn. ;). If you love erotica with some other heart racing things going on then grab this book. You will love it.

About the Author

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:
Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.
