***Review* Being Me (Inside Out #2) by Lisa Renee Jones
Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the lost journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.
In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but not before his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca, but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?
Nicole’s Review ~
My heart is still pounding away after finishing this book, oh my did it keep me on the edge of my seat. Not only that but some of the mysteries are wrapped, unfortunately there are many more to still be discovered.
From start to finish this book had me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. One minute you feel like things are finally starting to fall into place and the next minute things are jacked up and you are left wondering how will this ever be fixed.
Sara and Chris’ relationship is rocky at best and downright scary at its worse. Sara is so sucked into Chris that she is beginning to believe she needs him to make her feel alive and Chris says all the right things to keep her thinking that. I am a skeptic at heart and something tells me whatever secrets Chris is hiding are far, far worse than the ones revealed in this book.
Chris I am just not sold yet on him being the hero of this book. I think he is playing a game with Sara and even though she isn’t some naive little girl I still think she is going to end up in a world of hurt. Chris does the unbelievable in this book and I am a little upset that it is forgiven so easily and appears like it didn’t happen. Granted its nothing horrendous or a deal breaker but I still would think that Sara would have more issues with it.
Mark is absolutely fantastic in this book and I really hope that the third book is going to give us more of him. Since I have not read the novella’s that go along with this series I might be missing out on this. So if you feel like I do I suggest you do read them just to be on the safe side. Mark is a very complex man and there is a part of him that I think yearns for the things he wants but isn’t quite sure how to get them.
Lisa does a wonderful job of sucking you into the story and leaving you wanting more. I will be starting book 3 here shortly cause I really need to know what Sara’s decision will be. If you are looking for suspense, romance, erotic sex scenes and domination this book is 100% for you. Just be warned you will be left with a crazy cliff hanger.
