Dirty Blood Series
by: Heather Hildenbrand
I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that’s not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can’t seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted – and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That’s about the time I went into shock… And that was the moment he showed up.
Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, Werewolves do exist. And Two, I was born to kill them.

This was my first time to read a book by Heather Hildenbrand – – and all I can say is WOW – What an awesome author!!! I just love finding new authors that I haven’t read their works before – and then finding out what a good job they do!!!
Tara Godfrey is just a normal girl until something happens that changes her life completely!! Tara breaks up with her boyfriend and sends him home – only thing is she doesn’t have a ride home. On her walk to the bus stop, she comes across a girl in distress (or so she thought) – when she tries to help the girl, something totally out of the norm happens. The girl changes into a wold and attacks Tara. Tara is totally surprised and caught off guard but somehow Tara manages to survive.
From this point on Tara’s life changes – she finds out things about herself, her family and more. I am not one to spoil books for people so I will leave the rest for you to find out for yourself.
The characters in this book are well developed and the plot is smooth and quick-paced. I love the writing style of Heather and found this book hard to put down!! I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they’re kicking your butt in the process.
At least I’ve got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De’Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he’s destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn’t going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point’s evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?
Find the Book
I loved the first book in this series and I am totally impressed by how the author continues with this book. Let me state this to begin with – – you MUST MUST MUST read the first book of the series (DIrty Blood) before you read this book!!!
The first book (Dirty Blood) ends with Tara being expelled from school for hitting a girl. This story starts with Tara being sent away to Wood Point Academy. Wood Point is a school for training Hunters. But Tara just can’t win for loosing, she learns that the students at the school hate her because she is dirty blood – or hybrid and she starts calling herself. She does make a few friends.
I don’t want to say too much in regards to the story line – I just hate when people post SPOILERS like that. But I can say that I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see where Heather takes Tara and Wes.
I can say that this is the type book that you will find hard to put down. The story line keeps you interest spiked!!!
If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.
Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John.

Heather Hildenbrand has got to be my new favorite author – at least for now. I love this series and just cannot get enough of it. It takes a really good book for me to say that I was up until 3 am reading because the book was just too good to put down!!!
You have to make sure you read the other 2 books of the series before reading Blood Bond. They flow from one right into the next. From start to finish, this book had me memorized – as did the other 2 in the Dirty Blood series. Following Tara and Wes and the decisions that she has to make is amazing. The plot moves at the perfect pace – and you (the reader) will fall in love with the characters and think that you are there with them.
Heather Hildenbrand is an amazing author.
That’s how many hybrids survived the Hunter attack in the woods after I revived them with an injection of my blood. That’s how many followed me home to Frederick Falls. And that’s how many were now mentally linked to me through a blood bond.
Two days. Three valium. Fourteen hours of sleep.
That’s what it took to realize I wasn’t losing my mind as a result of the noise in my own head.
That’s how many days have passed since I almost killed Alex. That’s how many days I’ve sat by his bedside, waiting for him to wake up. To ease the guilt, to understand his betrayal, to remember the exact shade of brown in his eyes.
That’s my chances of skating by with Gordon Steppe and the Hunter Council. They want me for questioning. I’m afraid what’ll happen if I give them answers.
Find the Book
I had never read any of Heather Hildenbrand’s books until I was asked to read the Dirty Blood Series. I LOVE the way she writes and this series is amazing.
Blood Rule started just where Blood Bond just left off. With Alex in a coma (as a result of her biting him), she makes sure to visit him and hope for the best. Tara also faces many new challenges with her pack. Vera’s health is declining – but she passes on a lot of useful information to Tara. So many things happen in this book that it really keeps your attention and had me on the end of my seat.
And THEN – I will not say any more – I do NOT want to give away anything. BUT, let me say this – – the ending caught me totally by surprise and my comment to a friend at the time was “Omg – I do NOT believe she stopped this book where she did!!” Now I want to know when the heck is the next book going to be out?? I am dying to know what happens next.

I’ve just been named the heir to the throne – if I can prove to my conservative father that I’ve given up my playboy lifestyle and settle down with a respectable woman.
But why earn the love of a woman when I can buy it? Better yet – why not just blackmail the pretty girl who breaks into my penthouse? We both need something. I need a fiancée – preferably one I can control down to what socks she wears – for three months to satisfy my father’s edict.
She needs to save her family from being evicted from the building I plan to knock down to make way for my new upscale mall. Three months as my loving, devoted fiancée in public – and my personal whore in private – is a small price for her to pay to save her family.
What I’m not counting on: how possessive I quickly become of the blue-eyed vixen – and how quickly the press and world not only find out about her but rally behind a real life Cinderella.

“If a man doesn’t f**k you like he owns you, find a new one.”
Hot damn. That’s all I could say for this man.
I was lucky enough to win an ARC of this book before it’s release. Knowing myself, I would of bought it regardless because I’m a big fan of Erotica. This is the first book in a new series by a new author. A bunch of “new” there. The author rocked her first book. It was hot, it was steamy, and it was awesome. My only complaint, I wish there was more depth to it. I felt like there could of been more displayed in this first book.
“You’re my respectable, reserved, legitimate fiance in public and my do-anything whore in private.”
EJ is suppose to be this bad ass prince that gets his way all the time. I have to admit I laughed at him quit a bit. When I opened to the first chapter and saw his full name, my first thought was “Holy hell I can’t even pronounce half of that.” I do love his character though. He had that “I’m sexy and I know it” vibe.
“You come after I do.”
Exsqueeze me…. Huh!
Natalie is a sweet girl that I loved. Trying to help her family she gets trapped by EJ. And she enjoys almost every minute of it.
“She has a thing for guns,” I explain. “Not sure a stranger fares a chance in her place.”
As you can see I have a thing for quotes that I just love.. This couple is one that is going to have a rough road ahead of them. Oh how interesting that road will be. If you love erotica, this is definitely a must get book. But be prepared to want more. It is a Novella in a long series. Torture. I swear authors love to torture me.

***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and mature situations. Not intended for young adult readers.***
He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.
Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.
He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancé. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.
And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.
This is the first book in the Something More Series. Also available are books two, Say Yes, and the third and final installment, Say Forever.
Lizzy Ford Book Club Review:
He only needs three nights to make her his …
With more heart than sense, fearless, beautiful Zoey has saved countless college-aged women from horrifying deaths at the hands of supernatural sadists. She may be a mere half-succubus in a society that views half-breeds with derision, but she still retains the highest rescue rate of any Hunter in the Sucubatti society.
As the calm, disciplined leader of the Incubatti Enforcers, Declan is the polar opposite of Zoey – and the sworn enemy of her society. Forced to rescue her one night, Declan realizes two things: he doesn’t need someone as wild and independent as Zoey in his life – and he can’t live without her.
In this world, there’s only one incubus for every sucubatti and Zoey and Declan are stuck with each other. They’re just as likely to kill each other as they are to yield to each other’s sex magic.
She has authority issues and drinks too much. He is the irresistibly sexy incubus pre-ordained to tame her. Neither can fight their intense attraction, and yet trusting each other is out of the question.
What happens when their worlds crash down around them?
Strike three. You’re mine.

Book Club Reviews:
Zoey Rouge was an absolute brilliant write. The War of the Gods and Ryn have competition in Declan, and his family, Declan being a hot sexy raw dog brings 50 shades to shame, Buffy has nothing on Zoey the sexy bad ass, head strong spirited fighter. This book is not for YA readers under 17,, Deff for adults,,,loved it, the characters were all put together with great balance, again reading it made me feel as if I was in the story, I love most of all that Zoey needed no real rescuing. I loved that Zoey held her own, of course with her handsome side kick. Overall the book was fantastic, hoping to read more of these wonderful characters in the future. Way to go Lizzy!!!!
Chelsea Ingham :
I was hooked to this book from the start. Zoey has such an attitude and I loved every part of her character as well as Team R. Declan and his crew I also love. It is a perfect match for everyone and they all get along with a ton of sarcasm and swearing.
This book had me laughing and feeling for Zoey the whole way. As soon as I started I couldn’t put the book down. Lizzy does it again. I am glad I found Lizzy on Twitter without that I would never have known to read her books. I have not been let down once and this one I believe has become one of my favorites from her.
When I hit the last page without realizing it I immediately went to look for when the next book came out. Read this book. It has action, sex, sarcasm, and crazy meltdowns. Lots going on and figuring out what it truth and what isn’t. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for this little Zoey.
First book in a new series for Ms. Ford that’s for ADULTS!!! LOOOOOVED it! Loved the action and the characters. Declan is melt in your mouth gorgeous as are all his brothers AND his father! Zoey is amazing and has such attitude and sass! Love Professor. Ms. Ford has a WONDERFUL talent for story telling and creating worlds that are ABSOLUTELY believable and just suck you right in. This book was sexy and fun! The ending DEFINITELY leaves you frothing at the mouth for book two. Fantastic job, Ms. Ford!!!!
Cherrie Cruz Directo:
I love this book so much! It was action packed yet it was light and funny! Zoey is an amazing heroine. She doesn’t have rules. She acts based on her gut feelings. A real excellent match for the powerful incoming head Enforcer Declan…very tough yet very passionate. I just hope their bond would be strong enough to withstand any obstacle along the way. Can’t wait for Zoey Avenger! 🙂
Omg Lizzy never disappoints this book is so good I could not put it down I was up all night reading it I hope she finishes the second one soon. Zoey is a strong and independent girl and try’s her best to live a normal life but things start to fall apart when her boyfriend ask to marry her she freaks out and walks out the door and when she comes back she finds he knows she has been out in the clubs instead of the library but he doesn’t know who she really is or why she is there. If you want to know more then pick this book up it is amazing.
Zoey is a stubborn and spunky Hafling trying to lead a normal human life during the day and the life of a hunter at night. This does not work out for her. Zoey loves going out with Vikki and killing Cambions who prey on girls in their early 20’s and collects their sex energy. They are both the best Hunters at the Sucubatti. But everything starts turning upside down for Zoey and she has no clue what to do.
“I don’t want my job to come between us.”
“Your job didn’t come between us. Several hundred men did.”
Declan is a stubborn hot as hell Incubus. One of the strongest. He has avoided Zoey (His Soul-Mate) and the rite to become joined for years but a time comes that he can no longer stay away. Declan decides to start the rite only Zoey doesn’t know it till “Strike one” is over with. Each strike makes them crave each other more. Declan is the only one that can calm Zoey’s sex energy and the sex these two have is so hot it’s crazy.
“Strike three. You’re mine,”
Declan’s brothers were awesome. They had me laughing threw out the book. I couldn’t get enough of Wes.
“If you don’t f**k him, I will. Between the two of you, my day has been hell.”
This book was amazing. Everything was perfectly paced with no slow spots and no spots to fast. The sex scenes were hot. The details perfect and everything was described so you could imagine everything. I loved the professor the most I think. He was a hoot. This is Lizzy’s first book like this and I think she ROCKED it. Definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Her body ached with an irrational need to have him close to her. She noticed several faint silver scars across his back. How had he gotten those?
The memory of his reaction to the scar on his stomach stopped her from asking.
Hunter wasn’t prepared to share anything with her other than his body. Understandable, she wasn’t exactly the type to bare her soul either.
She was startled by the realization that she would like to know what secrets he kept hidden underneath his hard exterior. Usually, she could care less about the men she got involved with. But she was intrigued to know what made him tick. What experiences in his past made him who he was today?
On that note, Luna kicked the sheets off her and swung her feet over the bed. “I guess it’s time for me to get home.”
“Stay the night with me,” he said gruffly without turning.
Thankfully she still had a sane corner in her mind. She shook her head. “I can’t. I have to work in the morning.”
“Call in sick.”
Luna laughed. Why did he have to be so freakin’ gorgeous. It was hard to say no, but she had to remain strong. “I don’t have that luxury.”
He nodded and moved towards her. Reaching down he drew her up, towering over her. “Alright, but I want to see you tomorrow.”
They stared at each other for so long she was beginning to feel uncomfortable. The air between them seemed to thicken making it hard to breath. She knew things were moving too fast, but couldn’t seem to find the words to protest.
His fingers closed around the back of her neck and his thumb stroked her collar bone. The tips of her naked breast grazed his firm chest.
“You’re making it hard to leave.”
“Tell me you’ll see me tomorrow.” He cupped her face and gave her a brief, but thorough kiss.
She swallowed visibly and nodded, dropping her head onto his chest moving into the embrace. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Maybe she was reading too much into it. Imagining, he sounded almost desperate to see her again.
Why couldn’t she shut off that cynical voice in her head and just enjoy the moment?

a broken kid, like me. He always wore the same threadbare hoodie. Most days, it
covered his head. He was cute, but awkward. His hair was too long and usually
greasy. His Chucks were a little too big, so they looked a little like clown

at all. I didn’t find them attractive, and I certainly couldn’t see the appeal
of sex or of intimacy. With Jack, though, the thought of him near me didn’t
make me nauseous.
But it was how I knew that what I naturally felt for Jack was right. Because no
one had ever asked me that. No one had asked if I minded, if I was sure, if
something was okay. They just took things.

have and he looked silly, smiling at an orange. But he drew the same smile from
slices free from the whole and handed them back to me. I didn’t eat them right
away. I just watched him eat his part. He was messy and he ended up covering
himself in the juices. He unzipped his hoodie after the orange squirted down

When reviewing a series, the reviews get harder and harder to write as you read each book. I like spoiler free reviews and do my best to do them. So when you get to the end of a series, it’s hard to get out what you want without feeling like something is a spoiler.
Changed is an awesome ending to an amazing series. This book closed out the series perfectly. I love these characters and I hate that the series is over. 😦 Eric is of course, by far, still my favorite. I absolutely love that man and his green hair.
Changed had me guessing the whole time about what would happen next. I was extremely nervous through some parts in this one. I was so scared a certain thing would happen and thinking she wouldn’t do that to us. Would she? Thankfully I know now that no she wouldn’t. Lol.
In Changed, Amelia and Mitch, well lets say the whole family, goes through some struggles. A lot of struggles. With Mitch the way he is, everyone is worried what is going to happen. The other vamps in the neighborhood have been treating their soulmates wrongly and they have to figure out how to fix it all.
Eric and Megan have their own worries. As crazy as it seems I understand what Megan was worried about in this one. And of course Eric knows how to act like an ass and he does that very well in this one. But I still love him. Hehe.
Changed played out perfectly. Picking up from the last one and continuing the story while keeping it interesting. I don’t think out of the whole series there is one single dull moment. I had trouble putting these books down when I started. They sucked me in and kept me consumed. An amazing series dealing with Vampires and if you love vamps like me then you should definitely pick this series up.
