Review: Unbreakable by Abby Reynolds

This is a stand alone novel. It is not a cliffhanger. And it is the first novel in the Forehead Kisses Series.

Can there be too many pieces to piece back together?

This is a question Keira faces every day. It’s impossible for her to go anywhere unaccompanied by her cousin, the only person who knows what happened on that horrific night a year ago. The guilt and pain weigh her down every day. Unwilling to open up to anyone and give someone a chance, she lives in solitude.

For her, that’s the only way to live.

Liam struggles with his own demons. After losing someone who means the world to him, he combats his anger and pain on a daily basis. He dives into violence and sex, losing himself more and more. But as soon as he meets Keira, he recognizes the same pain he suffers every day. And he pursues her, wanting to connect to someone who understands.

Keira can’t put herself back together, and neither can Liam. But can they do it together?

Amy’s Review:

4 STARS!!!!

I fought with myself on rating this. I kept going between 3.5 stars and 4. Rating a book can be very daunting at times. But I decided to go with the 4 stars.

Unbreakable is a somewhat emotional read. There are parts where my heart broke for these people. Kiera having the hardest time of all. But with some insistence from Scotty (her cousin) she managed to start improving. I love reading books where the characters get stronger – mentally and emotionally. She did that and more. She learned to love again. Big step.

Liam.. What to say about this UFC fighter? (WOOT! Love UFC) He’s hot, sexy, powerful, but also sweet, sensitive, and caring. He had me swooning over him the whole time. He saw the pain in Kiera from the beginning but didn’t give up. He wanted to be with her and did everything possible for that to happen. I love Liam. If only more men could be like him. 🙂

This books is heartbreaking at times but great at others. They both have a bad past and both work to get past it. I enjoyed watching them grow individually but also as a couple. Such a cute couple…
