Review: On Solid Ground by Melissa Collins

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00037]

When Jacob “Dax” Daxton returns home from war, he has to fight a new battle – the one to find his place in the world. The man who normally has a clear path to victory surrounded by brothers in combat is suddenly lost and alone. After meeting Beckett Ridge, a bearded tattoo artist, Dax’s journey begins winding down an unexpected path.

Still reeling from events that shook his foundation, Beck has never been part of anything meaningful. Now faced with responsibilities foreign and daunting, Dax’s broken spirit mends Beck in ways he never even knew he was destroyed.

As both struggle to find balance, they are healed by the comfort they find in one other. On the other side of chaos, they hope to find themselves On Solid Ground.

Amy’s Review:

WOW! I don’t even know how to put into the words the emotions I felt while reading On Solid Ground. I mean…. I just don’t have words to convey how I felt. The painful pasts that both Dax and Beck went through tore my heart apart. Then the love I felt being shared between the two was too sweet. Just to have my heart ripped open yet again. It seemed like these poor boys went through one thing after another. Every time they thought there would be a break and things would look up something else happened. I couldn’t put this book down.

This book touches base on a few different things that are difficult in life and even more difficult to write about. I get a little weird when book touch on some subjects because If not written well it can really ruin a book no matter how good it started but I should have know there were no worries with Melissa Collins.

Dax and Beck are to amazing men. Amazing in their own ways and for different reasons but amazing non the less. Though both had different pasts it didn’t stop them from coming together. These two make the perfect couple. The last M/M book I read was by Melissa Collins and I will say that I can’t say this book topped it but it came very close. I loved these two men from the start. Violet was an added extra bonus that made me smile with every scene she was in. The things that poor girl witnessed. My heart broke for her. I couldn’t imagine. But thankfully Dax and Beck were there to help her through it.

This book is a very emotional read. I teared up several times and even had some tears slip out. I couldn’t help it. I was consumed from page one and didn’t want it to end when it did. If you like M/M books then this is definitely one for you.
