Genres: New Adult, Romance

The daughter of a renown media mogul, Poppy Koslowski has her life turned upside down overnight when her father is indicted for a massive fraud that leads to the loss of her family’s fortune. In the wake of the scandal, Poppy moves to Paris at the behest of her aunt, the Countess Domel, who, unbeknownst to Poppy, intends to find a wealthy husband for her niece in order to ensure her future. Poppy, however, has her own dreams of finishing school and realizing her goal of becoming an award-winning journalist. When she meets Henri Olin, the passionate and seductive illegitimate son of one of France’s most powerful politicians, his political and social ideology introduces Poppy to a world very different from her own. Yet, Poppy ultimately learns that everything comes at a price, even love. After suffering a devastating loss, Poppy finds herself alone and virtually penniless, and is forced to make her way back to America to piece together the remnants of her life in New York City. There, she rediscovers her passion once again, only to be confronted with yet another life choice, one that will forever shape her destiny.

Amy’s Review:

5 STARS!!!!!

I stop everything to read a new release from Vivian Winslow. I love this series and all the characters. I couldn’t wait to read about Poppy’s story. Through the rest of the series you get to see Poppy a lot and get to know her but she is one of those characters that you always want to know more about. Why she is the way she is or what made her that way. Well Wild Poppy answered half of my questions about her and there is another one to come!!

Seeing Poppy at a younger age was really different. I know her as this older, stronger person and to see her before she was that woman was nice. Seeing the pain and struggles that started out her life’s path to the woman she is in the rest of the books made me feel more connected with her. My heart broke for Poppy several times while reading. The way her family did her is unthinkable. I’m glad I got to know Poppy before this book. I know that she survived and made it through regardless of the struggles. And I also see the pattern as to what she put her daughters through in the previous books.

This is a must read series for me. I feel invested in each one of their lives and I can’t wait for the next book to get more insight to Poppy.

Author Bio:

Vivian Winslow was born and raised in Southern California. Before becoming a writer, she made a career out of moving around the world every couple of years thanks to her husband’s job and her incurable wanderlust. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and two elementary school age children, and is grateful to finally have a place to call home for more than two years.

New York is the perfect city to indulge her love of fashion, the arts and especially food. If she’s not at home writing or running around the city with her kids, you’ll most likely find her eating at the newest restaurant in her beloved Lower East Side or having a cocktail at her favorite bar in Alphabet City. That said, she’s still a California girl at heart and would gladly trade in her heels for a pair of flip-flops to catch a sunset on the beach.

As she attempts to balance her busy final year of law school with her bartending job, what should have been a random Tinder date for a hot hook-up leads to something unexpected. Amy’s Review:

4 Stars!!!!

I get so excited when I see a email from Vivian Winslow informing me of a new book. I have been following her since her first novella released and get excited to read her newest releases. All her books are about very strong and independent women. Women who take no shit from men and can do it without a man. I love women like that. Camila was no different. She had her life in motion and didn’t need a man to fill up her time. She was okay with how things were. That is until Marshall shows up.

Thanks to Camila’s cousin she meets Marshall. Tall, dark and handsome, he is smart as a whip and is the perfect match for Camila. There are a lot of ups and downs, moving forward and moving backwards but in the end it all comes together. And let’s not forget the amazing hot sex these two have. OMG! They are on fire together. HOT!

I loved seeing the Baron girls and Poppy included. I can never get enough of them and it’s always exciting to see a glimpse of how things are turning out for them and their families. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Sexcerpt
Camila turns her body to face Marshall. Lifting her hand, she runs a finger down the side of his face. He catches her hand and trails kisses around her palm. From there he runs his tongue up her index finger and sucks. He continues to suck on her fingers relentlessly, each one stirring her craving for sex even more than the last. She smiles to herself. This dare will be far easier than I thought.
She sits astride Marshall on the bench, careful not to tear her dress. “You sure about this?” He asks.
“Why do you ask?” Camila rubs his cock from outside his trousers. “You want to hear me say that I want to be with you?”
“Yeah, I do,” he replies before crushing his lips against Camila’s. Like last time, this kiss blows her away with its intensity, as he alternates between tender caresses and biting her bottom lip. Unlike last time, there’s an undercurrent of desperation behind it because they both know the weekend will end and their City lives will resume, where neither one will be able to touch the other. Somehow that prospect of it ending before it even begins drives them further into the moment, passion superseding all reason and doubt.
Camila doesn’t speak right away. She wants her kisses to speak her desire for her. For her tongue to find his and to stroke it the way he stroked her pussy that morning in her apartment. She brings her hands to his face, gripping him with the intensity of a lover who’s saying both hello and good-bye. It’s truly liberating to own this level of freedom with someone knowing that the present is all they have. She can feel his erection grow and press against her cunt, growing slicker with every kiss and lick against her lips. Camila draws his left hand under her dress so he can feel her desire.
Marshall moans into the next kiss, taking her deeper as he buries two fingers inside of Camila. She cries out silently, only a jagged breath shattering the stillness around them. Time has literally ceased to exist in this moment between the two lovers as they continue to climb toward their mutual pleasure. Camila lowers the zipper of his pants, freeing his cock. Marshall hisses as she begins to stroke him. What he wouldn’t give to feel himself inside her warm mouth right now. He groans as he bites down on Camila’s lips, remembering how it felt when she took him deep inside her. He starts to penetrate Camila faster. He wants to fuck her this way and so many others right here on this bench. How perfect and poetic to have someone like Camila on the Baron estate where he’d lost his virginity to Dahlia, the eldest of the twin daughters, all those years ago in the pool house. To bring such light to a place that represents so many memories from his past fills him with such a sense of peace he doesn’t want it to end.
Marshall takes out his fingers and licks them before putting them in Camila’s mouth. She sucks on them hard. The idea that these fingers were just inside her pussy drives her further into her lust. She lowers herself over his cock, prepared for how deep he would go and how far it would stretch her. This time her eyes are open, watching the look of pleasure on his face as she takes him fully.
His moan is louder than it should be, but neither of them cares. She rides him slowly this time, with greater purpose than before. Each time, she wants to feel him deep inside her, and he wants to savor it too. Marshall pulls Camila tight to him, burying his groans into her mouth, his kisses conveying a warmth and gratitude for tonight, for that morning in her apartment, and for feeling so fucking good at this moment.
He buries his face in her breasts as he continues to thrust into her. Her cries match his. Both are so close to coming, but neither of them is ready to. The reality after the fact will hit them both, and they want to push it away as long as they can. Marshall wraps his arms around her tighter, unable to edge any longer. “I’m going to come,” he whispers.
Camila nods as she rides him harder, lifting herself off, and slamming down so she feels it in her G-spot. She draws a deep breath, finally reaching that deep abyss as Marshall stops thrusting and lets himself go.

Review: One Simple Mistake By Deanndra Hall

One Simple Mistake (Citadel, #1)One Simple Mistake by Deanndra Hall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh My Hotness!

This is my first book by Deanndra Hall but it won’t be my last! I found myself quickly drawn into the complex dynamics between everyone. I know this is book one of the spin off series, so I will be going back and reading her other series, Love Under Construction. I think it would have made it easier to place who is who, and quicker for me to delve into the story of Doug and Vivian. That said, I was fully able to figure out who went with who & by chapter 2 I was fully engaged.
Doug is complex, hard working and struggling with being in love with someone he can’t have. Vivian has tried to find love and been left behind by everyone. The person she is desperately in love with happens to be married to her boss and friend. When an embarassing encounter gives Vivian and Doug a moment to bond, they hope to find what all of their friends have. Along the way, they must learn to trust each other and themselves. Along the way there are missteps and mistakes, things to work through and accept.

I loved how open Deanndra’s characters are. They weren’t perfect, cookie cutter copies. The story line is unique and stayed floating around in my head and heart for days after reading One Simple Mistake. I am so thankful I took a chance and opened this book!!!

Review: Sound Advice By LB Dunbar

Sound Advice (Sensations Collection, #1)Sound Advice by L.B. Dunbar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by LB Dunbar and I can’t wait to read more! From the very beginning, I fell in love with her writing style, her ability to transport you into the head and heart of a young woman, on the verge of making some hard, life altering decisions & a man willing to sacrifice himself to do the right thing. Sound Advice reminds you of how a small town takes care of it’s own, knows everyone’s business and supports each other.

Emily is facing the difficulty of her ailing grandmother. You feel the heartache of having to determine care for the woman who raised her, sacrificed for her, loved her. Jess is doing the best he can to raise his daughter Katie, who hasn’t spoken since her mom left for Chicago years ago. When a quick friendship grows between Katie & Emily, he gets overprotective. He’s rightfully concerned that Emily is going to leave their small town and go home to the big city, leaving Katie hurt again. It’s difficult to fight yourself, when you heart and your body want different things.

This is a touching, engaging story that is so different from anything else I’ve read! It’s not quite an ugly cry, but it will rip your heart open while filling it at the same time. When faced with only hard choices and no one to help guide you, all you can do is take a chance. No one knows what the future holds or how long you have. Mistakes will happen, hearts will break.

Review: Unmask By Xavier Neal

Unmask (Adrenaline Series (Stand Alone) Book 4)Unmask (Adrenaline Series by Xavier Neal
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Triple D!

I think this was one of my favorite books in this series! I’ve always had a thing for Triple D. They are always full of life, always together. Where Merrick had a thing for fast cars, Triple D loves motorcycles. They are very different, but it’s always Triple D together, against the world or family. When The Devil goes after Triple D, he divides to try & conquer.

Melody is The Devil’s toy. He’s kept her locked up, under this thumb with a greenhouse full of plants designed to hurt and kill. She’s also Drew’s caretaker after Drew is kidnapped. Being locked together for weeks, feeling start to develope. Can you really love the person who is slowly killing you, who is responsible for not so slowly killing your triplet?

Unmask is filled with action, suspense and drama! Xavier Neal gets better with each book, taking you to new levels of joy and frustration. One day soon, we will be able to reach into the kindle and smack the characters who are making poor choices, hurting the ones we love.

“Fact is, everything is a choice. Even when there are nothing but bad choices, with no possible way out, you still have to choose. A choice still has to be made.”
Best quote ever!

Review: Not Negotiable By Samantha Cole

Not Negotiable: (A Trident Security Novella Book 3.5)Not Negotiable: by Samantha Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every once in a while a side character will stand out, will linger long after the HEA and the book is closed, put away. You’ll find yourself wondering what happened, what led up to that one point, how will it end. Shelby stood out in Leather & Lace. She was so bubbly, so full of life. In His Angel, when Parker comes to Shelby’s rescue… Oh my. I fell in love with the two of them, especially together! They had such a connection. I couldn’t let go of them, their story. I needed more.

Parker is a stand up guy, fairly quiet. When his brother hits Shelby, he’s crushed. He’s watched her for such a long time, wanting her, loving her. Shelby is the bubbly, happy woman that is friends with everyone. She always has a smile and hug, her joy lighting up the world around her. When she quits coming to the club after the incident with Parker’s brother, Parker gets concerned, then pissed. Things are never as simple as it seems from the outside. Behind every smile, there is hidden heartbreak. Love is easy when it’s superficial, casual. It’s harder when it becomes about life, the fear of death. Love is about the time between, what you make of it. Sometimes you have to take that first step of trust, to see what has been missing and the best of what is to come.

Thank you Samantha Cole, for making me cry, for making me laugh, for reminding all of your readers that life is what you make of it.
